Thanks for the outstanding review! I especially appreciate the inclusion of details that many reviewers don't provide - like the design of the spine and if it strikes a ferro rod, the point of balance, thickness behind the blade and its geometry, sheath features, ergonomics and knife handling,etc.. would totally awesome if you could provide footage of it actually striking a ferro rod and batoning through wood as well as side-by-side comparisons with your other knives and insights into their pros and cons. The CPK SDFK is truly a holy grail knife! Keep up the great work - your reviews are getting better and better!

It can do things other knives can't. Those things can help you survive if you know what you're doing.

Wonder what the odds are someone in a survival situation will have a ultra expensive super delta heat treated knife on them? It really cracks me up when people believe the marketing. In truth most survival knives will survive in a drawer somewhere. While a regular edc knife will be what you have when a unfortunate situation happens. That doesn’t take anything away from this knife. It’s just ridiculous the way expensive designer knives are marketed.

One of my main edc blades is DEK1 with a super delta heat treat lol 😆 so I'd say the odds are pretty good. Carothers doesn't really do much marketing but their blades win competitions all the time where they are subjected to more punishment than most people will put their blade through in a lifetime. They aren't for everyone and you can get by with much less but if you want the most performance available they are worth it.
