Nice review, guys! I also like the Bravo series very much, great alrounders! I prefer the LT models though, cause they are by far better slicers. The only drawback with BRK IMO is their inconsistency with grinds, handle shaping and overall finish. But if you get a nice one, they are great fun! If you ever consider testing a thinner stock model I would suggest the B1.2 LT oder B1.25 LT, one of the very best outdoor utility designs ever IMO. BTW, what was the problem actually with the Aurora 2?

Thanks a lot! Yeah indeed, we noticed that inconsistency as well! Can imagine that a Bravo 1.2 LT or 1.25 KT gives awesome characteristics for a bushcraft knife. Would love to test that one day. I was batonning with my Aurora 2 one day, brand new knife. First time I had a CPM 3V knife in my hand. Batonning really hard on a knot. Though it would hold. But it didnt so the blade blade got bend a bit. After a couple hours of sharpening on japanes waterstone I managed to get the edge back in shape. That was a good lesson learned haha

Nice video guys, Bravo 1.5 is still a nice knife, not a big bear.. I think it will be good, besides, I wouldn't worry about Bark River and 3V steel is the best for various jobs! Cheers and good luck! May everything be successful!😉👍🌲🍀🔪🔥

Excellent overview of the Bravo 1.5! In the Bravo series, I love the spear point blade shape (for drilling wood) and I find the 5' blade length of the Bravo 1.25 to be perfect for any detail cuts yet still hefty and long enough for batoning firewood. The Bravo blade thickness (in its 1, 1.25 or 1.5 blade lengths) is awesome for most woodwork but i find it is not as precise for slicing as, say for example, the thinner blade geometry of a BRKT Aurora. I do like the edge retention of the 3v; in normal use, it is easy to maintain with some stropping. Do you guys not think the BRKT Bravo 1.25 / 1.5 is very comparable to the LT Wright Illuminous 5? Different grinds but otherwise a similar design... Perhaps you will do a review of the Bravo 1.25 sometime?

Thanks a lot😁👍! Indeed for slicing tasks the Aurora or canadian special are perfect. 5,5 mm blade is quite thick. Mmm comparison between the Bravo and Illuminous 5… No I think those are very different knives. LT wright handle is just 10 out of 10, great final touches on the details and extreme good spine. Quite different to work with during feathersticking. Both awesome knives though!👌 We would love to test the 1.25 one day💪. Seems like a great length 😎. Take care!

Wow, thats actually Impressive! Tusen tack! Funny, I just ordered the other day the Bravo 1.25 which Is probably really similar to this. Normally like a thinner blades. But wanted to have the good old regular Bravo in my collection. So that should arrive in couple of days. Cant wait to test it and do a review. Cheers!

Thank you for reviewing the Bravo 1.5. I have a Bravo 2, which I like a lot, but I have wanted to see the 1.5 in action. Did you use a strop before you prepared the food, or was it still that sharp after making feathersticks and batoning?
@westcoastbushcrafters
@westcoastbushcrafters Жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! Yeah we did a quick strop in between but edge retention is very ok with cpm3v we think 😁👍

Is your Bravo 1.5 a Drop Point? I want to buy one but I want one like yours. Some say Drop Point and others say nothing. It's confusing
@westcoastbushcrafters
@westcoastbushcrafters Жыл бұрын
Yeah according to the shop I bought it, it is. I will flip the knife upside down on the table to see how much of a drop point it is. Very little it feels like. It is the field knife version which means without the ramp. Yeah can imagine it is confusing. Specifically if it is not so visible.

It was a lot of fun using this one again!😁 All out Bark River knives are in 3V except for the Tundra III Camp. You notice a big difference in stain resistance between 3v and a2? Awesome knife😎

Hello, do you think Its worth to buy this knife? I'm scared that it will come with nad quality controll. However I allways wanted a barkriver in my collection, how good is their warranty?
@westcoastbushcrafters
@westcoastbushcrafters Жыл бұрын
Hi! It is a really nice, beautiful and good quality knife. Wished the handle was a bit thicker though. Warranty from them is good for fabric failures, maybe worth reading on their website. Contact a supplier and ask for the possibilities if you are not happy with it /terms of returning the knife is our suggestion. I think it is an amazing knife. Really happy with that one👍. Hope that helps 👍

Not with heat treatment, but with the grind on my Bravo One☹️

@westcoastbushcrafters Жыл бұрын
Same here, not with the heat treatment. Would have preferred a bit thicker handle on the bravo 1.5. Same thickness as the bravo 1 would have been perfect. We have some bark river knives where the spine is not sharp.
