I've the same and am very impressed . I've as well the mini Kephart with buffalo horn and red liners which is my very favorite of all of my knives . I think I might prefer horn and this is the only knife I've in horn but even still it is the most pleasing geometry to use . Perhaps do to it being most similar in weight and size to a classic Mora has a bit to do with my fondness of this mini Kephart as well (lol) but I truly find the Mora to be a very significant refinement in knife design and am always blown away when bushcrafters refer to a Mora as a good beginners knife . Mora like knives : perhaps the most pleasing general work / woods knife in the history of man . I definitely agree with you that this BRK Kephart design is fantastic . The L.T. Wright Genesis flat grind A2 is an exceptional Kephart design that I also very much enjoy . Anyhow , another sharp review .

thank you for the kind words :) i agree, mora have been killing the knife game for a long time, and they make fantastic knifes for beginners and more experienced users for a great price. I have been so close so many times to buy the Genesis, but have always had other projekts get in the way - i have to try it out at some point. I have seen lot BR´s whit horn handels lately, and it really maks the knife pop - especially the black buffalo horn and red lineres i imagine :)

After I got the full-sized kephart I have definitely been tempted to also try the mini Kephart :)

He lived on the North Carolina side of the Smoky Mountains in Hazel Creek area he was killed in 1931 in a car accident and is buried near Bryson City North Carolina, he also help plot the Appalachian Trail through the Smokies and help petition to get the Smoky Mountains a National park. I was born and raised on the Tennessee side of the Smoky Mountains right outside a town called Gatlinburg in the Pittman Center area I have spent may a day and night in those mountains I love them dearly.

I have just purchased the Bark River Kephart 5 in CPM3V I think you would appreciate the nuances that are given with this blade. Honestly it is the most comfortable and efficient blace I've purchased. Scary sharp and unbelievably tough. Easily sharpened with a ceramic and strop with the white and green compound.

Bark River just released Kephart 5.2 inch version this week...maybe you will like it too!

Thanks for the nice review. I've been keeping an eye out for the fullsize Kephart on the "secondary market". I have two of the Mini Kepharts, one of which has been my EDC for almost two years...easy to carry in the front pocket. Always the sharpest knife in our office. I use it to skin a croissant in the morning :-) The Mini isn't really all that much smaller, actually. But for outdoor use the bigger one may be a bit better.

I have recently been getting into Bark Rivers EDC lineup, and i look very much forward to try and EDC one. It will be great to be able to have a high quality cutting tool whith me everywhere i go :) but i agree, in the woods it is nice to a bit more blade length and power

Excellent video, young man.I'm a Scandinavian knife fan eg.Helle,Mora,Martini but I have the brk gunny and the Bravo1.In CPM3V and I will collect more Barkies,kephart is on my list as is the Auroras.Where do you buy your knives from.Stay safe.

That music sounds just like the music that Bryan from Survival on Purpose uses in his videos? Great knife, I have it in orange G10, and the mini in GCM. I agree the sheath needs a dangler.
