I think if you can keep the top half of the circle on the inner panel, that will be enough to help you locate the new tube. Maybe save the top half opening slightly toward the front on one side and slightly to the rear on the other?

Why not welding couple of bars inside the car so things don't move or buckle as you cutting things out.

There was some bracing in the cabin and after this I closed out filming this video, I added more. I hope to share what that looks like in the next video!
