Barn Find Caprice Classic - 20 Years Off the Highway - Road Trip Will It Drive 1200 Miles

I have been looking at the LTDs. I have absolutely no space for more cars though. The Caprice will stay in good hands. As cheap as it was and is to operate. I would be crazy to let it go. I appreciate you watching!

Great show and greetings from Canada 🇨🇦 ! I have full trust on your Chevrolet Caprice/Impala to make your road trip. These oldies from the 70s and 80s were pretty reliable and durable . I own and drive a 81 Olds Delta 88 sedan and I drive her everywhere with noo problems . Good luck 🤞

You have a beautiful city. We valeted the car at the Omni Royal and walked the whole time we were there. I believe we walked the whole French Quarter. The food... the food was amazing. I bet that car with a 383 in it was wild! These are some of the best riding cars for sure. I would like to do a 350 with a small camshaft and torque converter. I think it would be perfect.

We have newer cars up to 2020. They are not as smooth as this car. It amazes me how reliable the B bodies really were. Proof they are not built the same these days. Thank you for watching and commenting!

Ohh man, I would love to find one with the diesel engine. I have been looking, it seems many of the diesel Caprices went over seas or were swapped to gasoline years ago.

I've never been there. Why are all of the window shutters closed on the buildings? Love the Caprice!

From what I could tell, the businesses and houses that were not in use were shuttered like that. Some of them opened for dinner and had amazing frame and wood work. It is really a beautiful place.

Great cars, I mostly drove the police package cars (and even owned an 87'), but I think the police versions had a 350 instead of the 305, but I can't remember for sure.

I have a friend that has his dad's police 9C1 Caprice. It has a "dark" switch in it, all systems off but the engine stays running. Super cool and it has the 350. I appreciate you watching!

I was fixing my '89 Caprice, and I noticed that its rear axle differential assembly is leaking from the differential pinion seal and the left rear axle shaft seal. I have to get those fixed pronto. But I have it running.

Heck yeah! That’s awesome, those are not terrible repairs. Couple hours in the drive way, just don’t let it snowball like my projects. The front seal and driver axle tube is leaking on mine. I scored a 8.5 with 3.42 posi. I am excited to do sideways burnout!! Thank you for watching and commenting!!

Did the springs ever settle? Im looking to lower my 1977 by about an inch. Seeing if I should cut the impala ss springs or not.

I apologize for the delay in reply. They stayed solid after that last measurement. I think the factory springs were so worn out and sagging that bad. It drives so good compared to the OEM springs. Thank you for watching and commenting!

Please think about to preserve on time the doors, hoods etc. with wax. The doors down are particularly prone to rust!
