$6250 to do their research, promotion, maybe approach known buyers, handle the car on site, etc, etc. Compared to a Veyron oil change it's not that awful for the service rendered. If it were only eBay, sight unseen, no auction master's eye involved, yeah 25% would be steep.
@0-Will-02 жыл бұрын
Presented with all that bird poo, I would probably charge similar.
@visekual62482 жыл бұрын
This is because for some reason the owner decided to put the car up for sale in a low value auction, if he had put it in a car auction the commission would be much lower, around 15%.

If I was the owner, I would start with a conversation with Iain Tyrell - even if I could not afford to go down the route of a full restoration in his shop, I would at least find out the key things to look for before recommissioning as his experience in putting bodges right on this particular model is probably 2nd to none in the UK

Yeah, but even getting him to look over it and give an opinion on what it needs isn't likely to be as straightforward as you'd think. Any successful classic specialist won't give you time of day if you just turn up with your car. I'd expect Tyrell would want it booked in for an evaluation when the workshop has availability which is likely to be weeks, if not months from now.

That's a proper bargain, that was full risk value and sounds like it is in pretty good shape. Having bought a barn find that looked terrible after 30 years and then finding out it was basically new condition under all the rubbish, these risks are worth taking if they are already priced in like this.

As much as I would love to see it restored , I quite like the idea of a "Hubnut lambo". Run as is. I believe Harry Metcalfes engine rebuild from Iain Tyrells was around the £40,000 mark which is terrifying. He could literally put in the next silverstone auction and make a handsome profit with better exposure. Cant wait to see the next part. Well done Jonny knocked it out of the park again sir .👍👍👏👏

Fantastic episode.. Thank you for revisiting this Lamborghini. I too felt it was on the the best late brake show barn finds. Glad to see Mike intends on driving the car... My only concern is trying to start that engine. It should be boro-scoped to check the bores pistons rings and the big end bearings are all sound not broken/damaged before potential damage could be inflicted upon start up. ... So if this is part two of a follow up and a part 3 is planned - a follow up of a follow up. That would be, #Inception barnfind.. [follow up]
