Do NOT worry about cracking those carbs open. There is only a round gasket (fibre washer) round the fuel inlet screen, and they have never given me a problem in the last 40 years. Get a new fuel filter. Check for pinholes in rusty tanks by going in a dark room then shining a torch into the filler hole. You'll soon see the holes if there are any! I love this project... right up my street!😊

As a sixteen year old back in the eighties bought a rolling wreck of a BSA Bantam D3. Took the fuel tank off and found similar 'sludge'. Dad used boiling vinegar to clean it out. Then sat it filled with clean vinegar for a week or so. It cleaned out all the gunk and rust!. 🙂 Nice vid, Nuff said.

Found by 80's love for Lambrettas all over again this year, was surprised to see the scene has evolved and is bigger better than ever, i really need an Li back in my life, when i find one they want crazy money for an Indian, heard it's as bad over the UK, you just can't find them in Ireland, your so lucky nice find 🇮🇪🇬🇧🍻

I loved my old ‘63 TV 200 back in 1970 when I was sixteen. Did a fair bit of mods on the engine, carb, silencer etc all the basic stuff over that year before I switched to cars when I was seventeen. Great memories out with all my Lamby mates! Margate Kent U.K.

Yeah looks like a Servetta, these are good Lambrettas and its in very original condition, yah man did well there, push it around in 4th gear with the engine off and the clutch may well free off. Good video

Sweet! I had an old one sat for decades like that, frozen clutch. It was a Serveta too. A few pushes up a close by hill, pop the clutch rolling down hill freed up the plates. Thanks for the video.

As others said, it's a Spanish made lambretta. I think India bought the tooling from Italy to build lambrettas, but they didn't start importing them to the UK until around 76, if I'm not mistaken. Thats the GP Lambretta

Great upload Scott. As others have stated Spanish 150 Special. They started importing these when the Italian factory closed, up to that point they had only been licensed to sell to the home market. I had one recently rescued from a scrapyard in Isleworth. Frame & engine numbers should match identically if original. Original colour would probably have been white (or maybe silver, but I’d go with white for a 72/73) Last of the Eibar badged machines before re-branding as Serveta around 74. 🇪🇸

I think the old two stroke mix back in the 60s and 70s was something like 16:1 if my memory serves me right..I can’t remember if that varied for different makes??

@@CobwebGarage the frame & engine numbers are usually identical on the Spanish made scooters, as you said, the Italians had moved on to the GP range in 1969 & by 1971 / 72 when your mate’s scooter was registered, Innocenti had just about stopped making scooters in Italy.
