This is an extremely rare spec Mk1 Astra in itself - its had a 2.0 engine transplant and whilst its not a Gte - it is an Astra Exp - S special edition. Announced at the 1982 motor it was limited edition 1300 version of the 1.6 SR. So featured the satin trim and black body kit, recaro interior, rear roof spoiler and alloys. This car has been Gte'd to some extent but the sunroof, original Sr black kit revealed under the peeling paint, Sr type Recaro seats, rear spoiler, front headlamp washers etc etc point it to being an Exp- S. Available for a short period from Oct 1982 - Vauxhall had one in their stand at the Motorshow in the NEC that year. Not to be confused with the standard two tone Exp announced at the same time.

One of the best replies I have seen 👍 You can see the black coming through where they sprayed over it to make it look more like a GTE. In better condition would have been a great car to restore but just a interior and trim few bits and bobs parts car

I sold my Mk1 GTE to get an 1985 Sirocco GTX and I am so glade I did. I had more fun in the Sirocco by far. Just the trim parts on this Astra are like hen's teeth, so I guess someone brought it just for the parts. The Astra wasn't very lucky for me. It had missed its recall to strengthen the bulkhead. Only found when someone backed into it in a car park, and it was in for the insurance body repair work. One good thing was it's license plate, which spelt A---NDY. I don't think it was very lucky for the new owner either. He was a friend and he hit a badger on a country road, which tore the front valance off.

I am pretty sure this car was for sale somewhere else and they were asking a incredible amount for it, can't remember exactly how much, but I do remember saying WHAT!! ?? when I read it.

I had a mrk1 gte in red with a boot spoiler it was a fantastic car in immaculate condition , reg was A101phd sold it in 1985 for £3500 🤔 the bloke sanded down the beautiful red paint because he said it was too shiny !!!!

I used to have a RHD Opel Kadett 1.3S in the same colour Carmine Red. Even though it was a 1.3l engine it was pretty quick. I let it go in 2005. Three years later I checked to see how many were registered in the UK. Only six remained. They did rust though.

Kinda feel sorry for it, it’s a big lump in there a 2.0i 8v family series engine in there, be quite punchy with that if it was a runner, I remember a Cavalier I had with same engine, quite a machine.

I'm surprised no one has spotted the mk2 Cavalier dash transplant. Interesting car for sure. Registered correctly as a 2 litre as well. I bet it was quite nice a while ago.

Wow thats bad ,looks like an 1.8 injection from the 90s ,the GTE body kit is worth a bit and so are the wheels , the inside is probably no good .if it sells for more than £200 i would be surprised.

That's the thing. There are, genuinely, some decent bits on there, but transportation cost might keep the price down for some bidders.
