My dad grew up on a dairy farm in Iowa with 15 siblings. Before they had electric milking they had a small herd and only sold the cream to a buttery. The girls in the family had the dreaded job of cleaning the separator before they left for school in the morning. Next to dealing with the chickens it was the most hated chore among them all.

You are so good with the people you are buying from. You understand that they may be having trouble parting with things only because of the association with their deceased relative not because they really want to keep the item itself. You never pressure and keep it light. It probably helps. They think this guy is nice, let's sell to him.

She even had a mechanical boot that put out the cigarette and kicked it to the gutter, where inside there was a little container of water to make sure it was out. To get it going you had to press a button on the fire hydrant beside the boot...I have it all now, plus all my Dad's stuff too. He passed in 1993 and my Mom in 2012.
