Local Dodge Dealer here in Estonia has a 1960 Plymouth Valiant for sale for 8900 Euros and it turn key and ready to drive. and i wish i had the cash on hand to buy it.

Alex, keep in mind that old farms like that always had a dump pile. They would toss things in a heap from the farm. Usually in the woods or in a ravine. Great place to metal detect.

@@profwaldo No, it was tongue and groove sub-floor. Those 20' planks of 2'' by 6'' are worth two steak and lobster dinners each. The price of new home starts in the US has risen 25+% b/c of 'lumber' cost. No one is working the mills w/ this rona.

My dad grew up on a dairy farm in Iowa with 15 siblings. Before they had electric milking they had a small herd and only sold the cream to a buttery. The girls in the family had the dreaded job of cleaning the separator before they left for school in the morning. Next to dealing with the chickens it was the most hated chore among them all.

Picking though farms here in Australia, can be quite hazardous at times... venomous snakes and spiders, love hiding in old barns and sheds. You can tell when there are snakes present... not a mouse to be seen.

I think I saw you pass by an oscilloscope on the shelf. Test equipment is always worth money if it works. Old school techies like repairing old school gadgets with old school test equipment. The Plymmy would be a great buy if you can get it for the right price.

OTOH it’s really really dark which causes anxiety to those of us grown in the cities glow. It’s also really far from services, you don’t realize how much organization it takes to live off weekly grocery trips when you live 5 miles from a half dozen grocery stores.

You are so good with the people you are buying from. You understand that they may be having trouble parting with things only because of the association with their deceased relative not because they really want to keep the item itself. You never pressure and keep it light. It probably helps. They think this guy is nice, let's sell to him.

The Stewart Warner is a vehicle heater. I have my grandparents that was put in the trucks. Grandma said some didn't come with heaters and it was a cold trip without one while delivering a load of pigs.

There’s a pattern of speech and an accent for the region. It’s taken me a while to identify because I speak somewhat similarly. It was hearing other people, besides Alex, that got me to say ah that’s a pattern.

I always appreciate when you find a place like this and it isn't all just a bunch of garbage with a few nice items. This was mostly nice items with a little bit of garbage mixed in. And whoever ends up with that Plymouth is going to have a pretty sweet ride after a tuneup and a thorough detailing. Heck, it'd make a nice first car for some kid to take care of.

LOL...my late Mom had one. She got a kick out of those novelty items. She even had a mechanical boot that put out the cigarette and kicked it to the gutter, where inside there was a little container of water to make sure it was out. To get it going you had to press a button on the fire hydrant beside the boot...I have it all now, plus all my Dad's stuff too. He passed in 1993 and my Mom in 2012. She was just shy of 96 and a lifetime of things. I'd need someone like Alex to go through it all! I wouldn't know where to begin! : )

10:10 I grew up with Plymouths! My first car when I got my license was a 1964 Push button Automatic with front bucket seats as well as a sky blue paint job! I loved driving my "tank"!😉😀

We had a very similar Plymouth in my family in green when I was a little girl. I also played on a very similar child's typewriter. Such nostalgia! The black and white tv, cassette player lived in my Dad's shop. We were not supposed to know he loved General Hospital. This was a fun pick!
