These little guys are my favorite. I mow grass on a golf course all day and hundreds of them followed around and swoop down, sometimes less than a foot away from my mower to snatch all the bugs I stir up. They're such awesome little bug eating acrobats

Was mowing my in-law's three acres and had the same situation. These birds were beautiful to watch with their dark blue backs and forked tails.

I have a swallow nest up under the eave of my house with 5 babies in it The mother lost her mate and goes all day long catching bugs by herself to keep her babies alive. I admire that little bird more than I can say.

Great, thanks for this. I just saw these birds for the first time moments ago - in Germantown, Maryland. I heard a commotion outside and went to look; two males, that looked just like these, were quietly grooming. They were so beautiful I had to look up what they were called. I got 'barn swallow' and 'welcome swallow' (Aeteroa/New Zealand). Just beautiful. Hope they come back, I'd like to see them again. Thanks for this video.

They're cute until they start dive bombing you and yelling at you for no reason. We've had these barn Swallows for 7 years and they were cute at first and now they're just straight up annoying. Everytime we go outside the barn swallows are ready to attack. Heck they even dive bombed my car when I was leaving the house

One of the greatest regrets of my life was shooting these beautiful little creatures when I was a very young boy with a BB gun...I was allowed to watch Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds as a young child and had nightmares about it for a very long time...Birds became an enemy and when I was a bit older 7-8 and had a BB gun we began hunting birds...Barn Swallows follow you to collect the bugs you stir up as you're walking (especially in rural areas, golf courses, open fields and the like (didn't know it at the time ~ Only knew fear of birds dive bombing us while walking and they had to pay; they had to die)...I can remember shooting down a nest or two with babies inside screaming for us to stop and for their mother...Only a bit later did I realize that these beauties were cleaning up the bugs (catching them on the wing and NOT dive bombing us) and helping mankind rather than what I perceived was attacking us...How so sorry I am and wish I could go back and rectify that wrong ~ They were hard to kill because they were so agile in flight but we did get some perched on the telephone lines (not many but enough to really give me a bad vibe for what I did as a young school boy)...So beautiful to watch in flight...So very sorry for my actions so long ago!

Didya see the wings on that lil guy! wow! we used to have alot of these in our house as children. We tried to set up a litterbox for them, but they didn't use it! i didn't mind. After i tasted it once, i never used mayonnaise again! My mother and father were birdkeepers. And boy, did they ever have a lot of birds! i guess that was why they were callled bird keepers. Cheers! have fun swallowing around!
