you should do a video on how you work through a spooky/nervous horse or something that they don’t like. For instance my horse doesn’t like puddles or cracks in the ground and she will jump over them like a mad man. I like your training techniques and i think your techniques work well for my mare. I would love to see what you would do in those situations and what you suggest.

What's the purpose of having the wire over the walkout fences?
@TheWillingEquine6 жыл бұрын
Maya C we learned a long time ago that in such a close area horses have a tendency to kick at each other and their legs will go straight through the fence. We had a gelding that skinned his leg from hock to hoof and did a lot of damage to the joints doing this. The metal fences attached prevent that.

With having coyotes bad, ever had any trouble or concerns with them messing with your horses as you leave them out in the pasture overnight?
@TheWillingEquine Жыл бұрын
Nope! The only concern is with foals or minis if they are alone but coyotes around here won’t mess with them in a herd or really at all. They prefer smaller game like cats, small dogs, rabbits, etc

Hi. Great work. I am just beginning a move to the country and building a barn. Do you have any suggestions on where to start educating myself on caring for a horse? I would only do one at first. Thinking an older horse would be best at first?

Hey! so i might be getting a horse here soon, does anyone know where i could get a cheaper shedrow barn (that's what i heard people call it) with two stalls (i have a mini horse) and maybe a tack room? does a such thing even exist that cost at the most 3,000 or under? considering we have to buy the horse and barn/shed we can't spend thousands of dollars we don't really have. so something cheaper would be fantastic and i can't really seem to find anything anywhere.

Close stalling a horse is not in the best interests of the horse. Run in stalls and run in shelters are excellent. They give horses choices to be out in the elements or under cover.

So you have a dog that would love to roam around the barn with you, but you cage him/her in a crate!👎. NO TO DOGS IN CRATES! There used to never be such a thing as dog crates. We trained our dog. A dog bed in the corner would be just fine. And don’t bother with the ‘crate is the dog’s cave’ lie. Dog’s are social animals and need to be with their pack, that’s you, and whoever is in your family that works at the barn!
@TheWillingEquine6 ай бұрын
Oh good grief, everyone is so judgmental without having any information. My dog was people reactive and needed a safe quiet calm place to be when clients or farriers and other people visited. They almost always had a nice bone to chew on. It kept them safe and the people safe. The rest of the time they roamed with me.
