Jonathon Frid was such a great actor ! He played Barnabas, and Bramwell so well...he was what we ladies longed for...darkly moody, Romantic, and mysterious. Every scene/clip looked like a classic painting. His body language, and facial expressions helped display his emotions, and of course that voice ! Jonathon looked so handsome with his hair styled as Bramwell ! I wonder if he ever realized how handsome he was ? So sad he's not with us,but he left us with such a legacy. Thank you for this video, I love The Moody Blues, and this song is perfect for this video !

Welcome! Bramwell was the son of Barnabas and Josette in Parallel Time, episodes 1197-1245, taking place in the years 1840-41. By this time Barnabas was deceased and Josette was an old lady. The role of Bramwell was based on Heathcliff in the classic novel "Wuthering Heights," and was created for Jonathan Frid, who had requested to play another character. Check out this website for episode synopses and tons of other DS information: darkshadows.wikia.com

Unfortunately, Bramwell cancelled out Barnabas' magic.

My goodness! That was pretty amazing! If only I could have seen that when I was 15, I would’ve gone crazy… ❤️🔥

My favourite rock song of all time. I have 5 copies of the album in vinyl, 2 singles, the remastered CD. An absolutely period perfect choice and very fitting of the subject.

OMG, indeed! As with Ashley Wilkes and Rhett Butler, one has old-world charm, the other, a rugged magnetism; both are appealing in their own way. In this case both characters are portrayed by a single actor, Jonathan Frid.

I'm so glad I got to see where these scenes were taken from. Jonathan Frid was very good as Barnabas, I enjoyed his performance. Somewhat confusing though, back and forth in time, and people being called by different names had me guessing. One thing for sure everyone dies on DS, don't worry they'll be alive as a new character in the next episode! LOL.

1caclassic, I'm glad you, one of the original audience, enjoyed seeing Mr. Frid again as Barnabas and Bramwell. The purpose of my videos is to not only give long-time fans like you a chance to revisit DS, but to introduce people, who are curious because of the 2012 movie, to the original DS and, above all, to Jonathan Frid. Jonathan Frid was 6 feet tall, 175 pounds, with brown hair and beautiful hazel eyes.

There's got to be a way to get this totally awesome/great video out to your fan base WITH the better/best audio... we gotta figure out a way! In any case, this lower quality version at least proves your excellent editing work in syncing up all the scenes with the music... the moods, the action, the music... So, the video plays for ~5 minutes, but I imagine a work like this took you weeks to put together! It shows it... it's really great! Keep up the great work... Keep Barnabas alive forever!!

How Splendid

Thank you for recognizing what an undertaking (a labor of love) it was fine-tuning the timing of the scenes, lyrics and-what I call in my ignorance-“musical punctuations” (at the closing of the music box, the overturning of the table, etc.). The uploading ordeal seemed to take just as long! I’ve mentioned to someone else that it’s amazing how DS can be adapted to such a spectrum of musical genres, judging by the productions of fellow DS-KZbinrs.

+Renee Stanton Thank you, Renee. It's the sound quality that I changed. The video story itself hasn't changed. Try viewing the "enhanced version" if you haven't already. Or if you/anyone prefers, think of this one as playing from Quentin's gramophone. By the way, I'm keeping this page out of respect for all the previous commenters. : )

Barnabas was great but Bramwell was so dreamy.

Yes, yes Bramwell was dreamy that is what women like, forceful but tender too, almost perfect for a husband.

My pleasure, joclouise1, and thank YOU. As I said in my first reply to my first video, I’m only the intermediary. Jonathan Frid provides all the magic.

A parallel-time conundrum: What if Bramwell’s father was the real Barnabas, and the “real” Barnabas was the parallel time Barnabas? (Depends on the frame of reference.) Hmm…Just what the truth is, I can’t say anymore…

KNIGHTS IN WHITE SATIN by The Moody Blues, great late 60's love ballad, look up their early 70's hit TUESDAY AFTERNOON. Once saw someone sync up that song with images from 9/11. My God, the lyrics were haunting against that horrible backdrop. Too bad KZbin removed the video! 🇵🇷🇺🇸😎
