Tough luck! But these motors seem straightforward to pull apart and I guess spares are plentiful? I settled down to watch this eating an apple… that rat carcass just about did it for me! Oh well.. still want to see Barney running well and out for some fun, so I’ll endure the rats and watch future episodes. Always interesting, thank you. Les 🇬🇧

Barney is definately a real 'rat bike' I touched it before I realised what it was. Ewww. Barney's engine is now out... Thanks Les for commenting.

@ Rat bike? Oh crumbs! I should have seen that one coming!! I’m looking forward to seeing how you do on the engine. Despite being trained as a motor mechanic back in the early 60s(!) I’ve learned a lot from KZbin videos, especially on these little ‘near-horizontal’ engines. I’m enjoying all your stuff. Les

@@leslieaustin151 thanks Les, it's Saturday morning here, I'm just about to head off into the shed. Yes ct110 parts are available, not so easily for the 90's. Many people fit a Chinese clone engine rather than rebuild the Honda engine, but I prefer to keep them original where possible.

Time to pull it apart maybe some new rings and it will be good m8

Yeah that was what I was hoping Andy. These engines are bulletproof but some owners take that to mean they can run them into the ground, as I found when I took the head off.

Perhaps it’s where previous owner stored his lunch… he just plain forgot about it?

I was happy the rat didn't eat the wiring!

Looks like Micky Rat is freeze dried.

Okay, I usually love your videos, but the rat extraction was gratuitous and I forwarded past it. Gross. Time to take off top end, and best case is just changing the rings. More likely, you'll wind up having to bore the cylinder the cylinder for a larger cylinder and new rings. Hopefully the valves and seals are in good shape. Also, I replaced my battery with a LiFPO on my CT90 and I'm very happy with it. The connections required minor modifications, and I needed to add some spacers/filler in the battery compartment, but its about half the weight, no fluids and never needs maintenance. Good luck.

Appreciate your input, I took your comment onboard & I agree with you, I've edited out virtually all of the rat footage. I put it in simply because it was something I hadn't encountered before. I'm now waiting for a new cam chain to arrive & the engine will be finished.

@@Free_Ranger_CT110 It was interesting to see the rat, just not the entire extraction process!!! I re-watch the edited version and this "cut" is much better. Still neat to see the problem, but not as gory in the new version. :) I look forward to hearing how you solved the smoking problem. Thank you.
