Barney was the best and also as a person. I met him several times near the end of his career in San Diego, CA. He was always so kind and generous. A true gentleman.

Thanks Rumark Video. I am sure each day more and more guitar players are finding these videos. They are invaluable. I'll let my friends know about them. Now, I'm going back to video one, as Barney suggested, and work on those elements in my playing that need work.

That was such a great course. Thanks for posting it! Kessel seems like one of those rare musicians who understood what he was doing well enough to break it down to its most fundamental parts and explain it. What's even more special is how economical it was. Every second of the course was about the content and nothing else: no fluff or ego-boosting asides. Great stuff.

Invaluable insights from a true master, a big thanks from me too for sharing this. Timeless instructions for players in order to be creative instead of just being reproducers.

Thank you so much for posting all the Barney Kessel's videos!! to me they are some of the best instructional material available for jazz guitar; he really had a gift for teaching besides being a fantastic musician. I hope you can make the booklet available, I would be even more grateful!

Use your musical ear dude not the booklet Lol... Here is a piece of advice that one of my teachers gave to us “dumb” students: ”Have the music in your head, not your head in the music...” Got it... ??? (In other words: Learn one bar at a time by ear, and stop relying on the music sheat/booketLol... It works, trust me..

SKoch 999, I’ve got 98% hearing loss in both of my ears. Sheet music or tab helps me get the semi-tones I can’t distinguish with my ears, dude.
