I think I'm getting it re "make your own musical statement" in the 6251 in C in Take It Easy . My melody fits the chords because I'm aware of the good notes in the key of C, and am playing them in a fretboard area in which i'm comfortable. Should I be less aware and play more freely? And, if i try that, and maybe play in the key of Gb, how can I be sure the notes fit the chord before I pick them? Is it just by ear, singing, and practice?

So he goes naturaly and creates melodic lines that fits the armonics of the song. Whithout going to a known pattern... that seems like a long time to practice and master. Its like, ok forget everything you have learn and use your instinct without making any mistakes while creating interesting and original melodyes. If im getting it correctly.

I find it useful to sing what I play. Gets me out of guitar thinking and into melody creating.

@@passivepuppy Yup, been doing some progress since I leaved that comment. I just didn´t understand what it was referring to. Its about focusing on music and not on tecnicalities and musle memory. Singing definitly helps creating the right focus. Also playing many varieties of keys and progressions, diferent regions of the instrument etc, becouse if I allways play the same stuff its very eassy to fall in the same patterns over and over again and stop being musical about it.
