Almost perfect video! you left out the scene when barney was at the hospital because he had broken his arms and legs while running to the hospital to see Ted, and Marshall and Lily asked him what did he saw when he was about to get crushed by the bus (according to Ted you see what you love) and then Robin entered in the room and he looked at her in a very romantic way. To me this is the best Barney and Robin scene

Apart from what many other people think I think the show ended pretty much how it should have. I hate that the Mother wasn't really a big character during the final season and what happens to her sucks, but given that it does happen that way, everything else makes sense. Sometimes love isn't enough to make something work. The show showed that Barney and Robin were great together but their personalities clashed with each other in most of the ways that a relationship is meant to work upon. Some said that him going back to his old ways after Robin destroyed his character and the growth he made during the time he spent with Robin. I don't think that is true, that is who he is, he was willing to change for Robin, but when you take her out of the picture it is completely logical that he would fall into his old habits. Throughout the better half of the last 3 seasons we see that Robin actually loves Ted as well and even considers running off with him. That being said it is completely understandable that given the Mother's fate, and plenty of time afterwards, they ended up together. While the ending may not reach the perfection some of you may have wanted, it makes perfect sense and the show did an excellent job of showing that this made perfect sense.

+Acid Tearz most of the show is set up with Robin denying Ted over and over again-she was willing to marry Barney, even though she wasn't really open to the idea of marriage, she told Ted to his face she was not in love with him to the same degree. Ted deserved someone who loved him to the same degree-she only wanted to run away from the wedding, not run away to be with Ted. Ted even tells her this when she asks for him to run away. Ted had to let Robin go to find Tracy, and he deserved Tracy. The writers didn't have to kill the mother. Yes, cancer does happen, but the show was called how i met your mother, not how i met your mother but really, hopelessly loved someone else the entire time. I would have been more open to Ted & Robin ending up together if it showed they were star cross lovers, that she loved him just as much in the same manner. But she didnt. It is why Barney and Robin ended-all you said, but she also couldn't give up her career. Same thing would have happened to her and Ted if they married-only, they couldn't even live together while dating so why get married. ehh whatever the show was not suppose to go on as long and the mother was really suppose to be victoria (which they turned her character into some terrible slob as well) rant done :p

+LV Adams Actually, I think you'll find that Robin most certainly DID love Ted, but struggled for so long with expressing it at times. Even in her other relationships it was quite clear that she was living in denial of her love for Ted, but the fact also is that she never had anywhere near the same level of emotional happiness and contentment with Barney, Don, Kevin or Nick that she did with Ted. So given the way the story went after the marriage with the predictable divorce from Barney and the tragic death of Tracy, it made more sense that Ted and Robin would end up together. I was delighted in the end. And for good measure, the show was also NOT called How I Met Your Mother And Lived Blissfully Ever After With Her because the writers never implied or promised that. They dated for a year and couldn't live together which means they were never meant to marry-it's why he couldn't marry Victoria-Who was originally suppose to be the mom but since the show got so popular they added more seasons and that is how Tracy came to be. & When Ted wanted to marry her she said no, he even asked her if she loved him the same way and she said no. Even when wanting to leave Barney at the wedding for Ted, it wasn't because she loved Ted-she feared commitment. That isn't loving someone-using them as a scapegoat because of your fear. I think at times she did love him, but I definitely don't think they were meant to be all along.

Again, I disagree. The point of their relationship was that they weren't in the right place in their lives to be willing to commit to one another. And they actually were more than willing to move in together but it was really because of Barney's jealousy for the most part that they didn't go through with it, eventually deciding that they didn't want to go too fast too soon. And Ted didn't actually propose to Robin, the waiter at the restaurant mistakenly brought them two champagne glasses which were meant for another couple, one of them having the ring. When Ted asked Robin if he loved her, she had been told that she couldn't have a baby and had lost her engagement with Kevin, so the emotional upheaval was far too much. There was no way she could just tell him that she loved him that way at the time. But the undeniable fact is that they never stopped feeling strongly about one another and prior to her wedding she realised that Ted was the one for her, someone who truly loved her and would go to the ends of the earth for her. And she did love him back all along. Like I've said before, she had trouble expressing it at the time due to her own emotional issues. As far as I'm concerned, they were truly meant to be. I do respect your point of view but I must say that your argument is a little inaccurate.
