I like to think Barney is just an unintentionally unsettling but very kind dude in this video. He kindly mentions the truth when you ask about his fear so he doesn't hurt your feelings but doesn't lie either, He feels understandably sad when you say you don't trust him (despite doing nothing untrustworthy or even creepy at that point), He admits he's wrong and offers cookies to amend the situation, and once he realizes you won't ever forgive or trust him, he moves on. Based Barney.

It's even a bit unsettling when the player gets the color question wrong in the beginning. His face just looks slightly more exaggerated than the other expressions.
