Barolo and Barbaresco are not only wines, they are pure love. can't say much more than this about two wines that talk so directly to my heart. 11:47 and you're confirming what I just said 🥰 I had a great trip to the Langhe in 2018... I guess it is time to return?

😭 I'd thought it was my fault for not telling them apart easily! Even in non-blind tasting, the wines are absolutely not too different. It is also true that terroir and producer have blurred the difference massively across the years. In fact, there's so much to discover within FEET of distance
@NoSediment9 ай бұрын
No, no, it is absolutely not Your fault. These two wines are difficult to tell apart in the blind tasting. 🙌 You are not alone

I did visit Barbaresco wine marker Marchesi di Gresy with their 50 vintages and i enjoyed their Red wines. Then thanks to y videos I came and visited Rivetto estate and i loved Barolo Briccolino and Barolo Serralunga 2019 . They are stuck ti my ❤️. Bat alzo sparkling Alta Langa Is a bubble you shall definitively try.😉

Awesome video. I love the wine series and have that book along with pretty much all of the others. 😁. Great reference books. I am a Nebbiolo fan for sure, barolo, barbaresco, spanna, chiavennasca, but I do like the ghemme ones too. Oh and as a digestive, barolo chinato is very different and delicious. Cheers!

It seems, vintage '19 is too early for Barolo wines. I'm going to drink Fontanafredda Barolo 2012 at the next OTBN on February 2024. I guess it will be amazing.😁🍷🍷

Great wines. As I like powerful wines, Barolo is my cup of tea. I tried this Produttori del Barbaresco and I confess I had high expectation due to its reputation. But, unfortunately, I've got a little disappointed. Honestly, I've expected more.

Don’t worry one bit! That can happen and it is completely fine. I have tasted some highly regarded wines that everyone enjoys, but not me. And sometimes I grow to like them over a time, and sometimes I just realise that it is not my style. We should respect our taste! 🍷

Your videos on Piemonte wines actually inspired me to spend 1 week holiday just this month in Piemont. Staying in Nizza Monferrato and visiting all the pitoresque villages like Neive, Barbaresco, Alba, Barolo of course etc etc. It is just stunning there. Can highly recommend.

Very nice and informative video, thank you 🙏🙏. I’m new to nebbiolo wines, a true rookie. I did just try the 2019 Produttori del Barbaresco, and was very happy that my notes were similar to yours 😇😇. Maybe because all I heard was “tannin tannin” prior to tasting, it was lower than expected and the acidity was more pronounced. Another thing I hear is nebbiolo is similar to Pinot noir. I don’t understand that, was curious what you think about that! Anyway, I will subscribe!
@NoSediment9 ай бұрын
Thank You for Your comment. Yes, that wine indeed has defined acidity, for sure! A lot of people share that thought, and I think it is similar in a way that it is high quality grape, that is difficult to grow (requires a lot of attention) and can express terroir well (just as Pinot Noir), but other than pale color, I see very little differences. And I always liked to talk about grapes on their own, and not compare them with other grapes. 🙏🏻 Cheere! 🍷

didnt tried Barolo or barbaresco yet waiting for great vintages 2019 and more...aka 2020 2022 ( i know it will be great) cause i missed great vintages back in a days. do not want to spoil my expectations.
@NoSediment9 ай бұрын
I am sure that great producers will be able to make good wine on a lesser vintages as well. And some of the wines can be very enjoyable at an earlier stage in their life. But if You feel that it is better to wait, I am sure You will enjoy those great years even more! 🍷

I absolutely agree that today it's quite difficult to distinguish between Barolo and Barbaresco. The thing is that the wines from these regions (as same as Burgundy or Etna) very precisely reflect their terroir and are extremely sensitive to any change (whether vintage, climate or exposure). There are different villages and single vineyards which are located close one to another, but taste absolutely different. In addition, different producers may use different winemaking technics which make the things even more complicated. On the other hand, that is why people love these wines. They are always exciting and never boring.
@NoSediment7 ай бұрын
Do You think it is the region or the grape itself that has ability to express different sites?
