What i really enjoy about this apart from classic wow clears is that, this is about doing the fights right not fast. Sure i can see the fun in going all world-buffs, consumes, items and what not to clear it as fast as possible. But that is only what top top guilds can do and they will only be able to it once. For me a casual this seems more relateable.

You guys make it look too easy. Hope everyone is mindful that it takes a dedicated group farming end game content and more for months if not over a year to go in here and melt this raid like this. This is an exceptional group doing an exceptional job. This isn't WotLK Naxx. Gear/itemization, resistance gear, composition, and consumables need to be on point. If you're in here hating on the game or the players, you clearly have no idea what it takes to get to this point. Most players can't and won't get to this level.

how much frost resistance does everyone have in avg in this run? how much would you guys recommend? would you recommend when trying saph for the first time to just use green gear without stats or wait for runes to craft the equip?

In this specific raid, everyone had outstanding frost resistance gear, full crafted stuff. But the first weeks youre not gonna have that stuff. You can kill sapphiron with the green resist pieces its just going to be alot harder. I'd highly recommend trying to get to 150 ish unbuffed frost resistance if possible. In some cases losing all the stats on your normal gear won't be worth putting on another 15 resistance though. This is something the healers will have to juggle.

My gear for tanking always varied a great deal depending on alot of different factors. Is threat a problem, how do the mobs hit me, do they stun, do they deal alot of magic dmg or all physical, how many healers are there, do we have world buffs, etc. Too many to name. Some advice I can give you, try to aim for 7% hit or so for threat gear or if you can get it without losing too much survivability, you could go for 9%, also use full dps comsumes. It really just depends on the boss and what gear you have. You have to hold aggro and you have to stay alive, both are important and a requirement, therefore you must balance your gear to achieve both.

Casters start off a little slow due to bad itemization, but when ZG and BWL come around, they have access to spell hit gear and perform alot better. Warlock is one of the highest dps classes endgame.

Excited for classic, but If you see the trend of private servers, which this is, each phase of vanilla (mc/ony...zg/bwl/green dragons...aq20&40...naxx) are generally cleared within 1 raid lock...naxx possibly being the only exception due to the gear check, but still ridiculously fast(after max level is attained initially, obviously)... so you’ll probably see guilds like this coming in and dominating the game extremely quickly because they’ve practiced it over and over. Although I’m assuming from what I’ve read that the phases will be spread out on a timeline almost identical to the original. So naxx shouldn’t be released for about 18-20 months give or take after the servers open.

This was when you had to be a legit player to raid. God I miss those days. We only made it through about half of Naxx before expansion and I felt accomplished as hell. You may have gotten 4 piece of loot but this was when loot was a noticeable upgrade to your character. I remember chasing a full dreadnaught warrior carrying the flag in WSG with about 8 people and couldn't take him down like 20% lol Couldn't help but clap and be impressed cuz you knew what it took to get there.

so every fireball dot takes a debuff slot from each mage as well as deep wounds from a warrior? Are those dots the 1st to get overwritten

It does, but it, like deep wounds are of the lowest priority debuffs. This means if you demo shout or drop a curse on the boss, and there isn't debuff space, fireball and deep wounds will be the first to be replaced with the more important debuff.

I was also wondering if you were running with 3 ds/ruin locks and 2 sm/ruin locks if the debuffs go somewhat like this. 1st ds ruin - Curse of elements 2nd ds ruin - curse of shadows 3rd ds ruin - curse of recklessness 1st sm ruin - (amp curse with agony 3/3 talented for 18 secs) then just casts corruption for nightfall and doesn't agony anymore till amp curse is up) 2nd sm ruin - curse of weakness (3/3 talented) or if curse of weakness isnt worth it, he can just do the same as the 1st sm ruin lock.

If there is space, 1 lock could corruption, it's rare there would be more than 1 or 2 open slots. And yes, that's how it works, if there are 16 higher priority debuffs on a mob, fireball or deep wounds will not be applied.

If you're going off my dps meter, I didn't have my combat log fixed, it was only gathering data on players within 30 yds. So it isn't accurate for fights with long distance.

Theres a couple different builds tanks use. During almost all of Naxx I just tanked as full fury though. Can go Bloodthirst / Defiance, but you don't get Tact mastery. I still think the MT should be 31 Prot though. A few bosses hit extremely hard.

naxx requiring so many tanks how many tanks in the raid constitute "main tank" then? I can see if you have a dedicated MT as prot for the worst hits is necessary, but you look like you MT as fury in some situations hahaha. What's the split between prot tanks and fury tanks that y'all use?

Its good to have at least 1, but no more than 2 Prot warriors for Naxx. Sapphiron, Loatheb are 2 fights where the tank needs good mitigation and also KT. Also, there are certain fights where threat is a problem, these are the fights I would generally tank as fury. Thunderfury and deathwish can generate some nice aggro. Towards the end I was dual wield tanking Thaddius lol.

Is this a fury/prot hybrid spec? All the gear and weapon swapping is making me so confused.

In this video I was a full fury spec, 17 / 34 / 0. For some fights I dps, for some fights I tank. For some fights I'll need full mitigation gear, for some fights I'll need threat gear. It's part of vanilla knowing how you should gear for each encounter as a tank.

i play wow back in the days i was in a solid guild with good full progress on naxx... it was worth the time? hell fucking yeah, it is nostalgic, and people saying that it is not hard mechanics, its not but it was a pain in the ass to get all the consumables potions and proper gear to do it and thats the fun part of the game and that part is lost now days that was the core of wow that you have full control over your character stats... will it do it again? probably not cause im older and dont have time like i had back in those days...
