1:39 "I would need more poisons and potions to achieve the same result on higher difficulty" You actually wouldn't! The way difficulty works in Oblivion is to apply a percentage modifier to the amount of damage you deal to enemies and enemies deal to you, and because of the way poisons are coded to apply their effects, the difficulty modifier isn't applied to them. This makes poisons one of the VERY few options to deal decent amounts of damage on max difficulty settings.

Huh, I never knew that about poisons, and I've been playing Oblivion since it came out; the more you know!
@GrugGangGrugGangАй бұрын
@@TanisAnnicchiarico Not only that, but they scale amazingly well as you level. Weakness to Poison multiplies the effects of any subsequent poison used, and is a poison effect. I just came across this video and can confirm. I do the weekly arena matches as grand champion and I always fight 3 minatour lords with my custom poisons. Damage health, shock, fire, and burden. I also have a silence, parlayze, damage magicka and damage health for mages.

Poison only in Morrowind would effectively be magic only since I don't think there is zero physical damage melee or ranged ammo. Also, both Daedra and Sixth House member can sport some reflect magic innately even if you weaken their resistance to poison damage. You'll probably want to take a character with poison resistance (Argonian or Redguard iirc) along with Alchemy as a major skill to make restore magicka potions.

Why is everybody calling the Morrowind and Oblivion leveling system wacky (or worse)? I think, it's one of the greatest leveling systems for these kinds of RPGs. You get better by doing things, not only regarding skills but also regarding attributes. It's great, once you get behind it. I'd love more games to use this system. Oblivions main issue with leveling lies in the scaling of enemies not in the character leveling itself.

Next Oblivion challenge: figuring out how to level properly. Seriously, the leveling in this game was so jank. The opposite of that would be a Baron's video drop - jank not detected. Everything is perfectly normal. PS - Just needed to say that your Puddle of Mudd/Orphan of Kos video is literally one of the best things on the internet. Bravo. Edit: Dang, didn't even take you five minutes to get to the leveling. I should've trusted you. 😅
@EddieSpaghetti69 Жыл бұрын
It's confusing because the same skills you want to level to be stronger make you weaker as your enemies grow stronger then you. An easy way to keeping your level low in Oblivion is to pick major skills that you can control easily while leaving minor skills with things you'll use often. A weapon+armor skill often is what overlevels people when you combine it with Acrobatics, Restoration, Athletics, Destruction, Stealth, or Illusion. You'll use it often and level up often with incomplete stacks of +5 stats which leads to issues. It's not balanced. That's just how Oblivion is. Once you know how to stack it in your favour it becomes easier.
