Quite like that it's got cruise control. Means you could shoot a bow and arrow while riding along. Might come in handy.

Can't believe it's been 8 years since I watched this video. 8 years later and sadly I never got to buy the HP4 as it's too late and ended up with a new 2024 hayabusa. Can't say I'm sad at all, but If I were to have a second bike, I'd try to find this one. Sort of a dream bike with the color scheme and everything :)

You make a good point Baron, has there ever been a bike where it is hands down loathed and hated cause it is genuinely crap? The best test of making sure you bought the right bike is when your walking away from the bike do you turn to look back at it.

I bought a Keeway RKV 125 and I look back at it all the time like it's an S1000R. I love it but if you saw me riding it you'd probably laugh at my level of twatness for buying a Chinese bike but to be honest the RKV is good; at least for your first bike when you only have a CBT

+Alex Jhon Correction riding in London. Riding in london is crap 95% of the time and awesome 5% of the time. Riding our country lanes is 100% awesome tho. Check out "hawes" its a village with 20+ miles of road in either direction of none stop corners one after another that are taken at around 60 mph, hell of a ride. It also causes a lot of inexperienced riders to crash. But thats part of the appeal of riding there.

I recently bought an S1000RR - I haven't found one area of road riding where it's unusable. In town it's more docile than a litre bike with nearly 200bhp ought to be, out on the open road it's comfortable and in the twisties it's SO much fun. Even fuel economy isn't too bad. The worst thing about it? Having to clean it every time it gets covered in shit after a ride in the rain.

If I was given an option between the two (price not being an option, like some guy was like "take A or B") I'm not sure what I'd choose, probably the BMW b/c those little things like heated grips and cruise control make it great to ride around...and as far as reliability daily I think I'd trust it a bit more.

I love seeing the sea change occur in your frontal lobe now that you own the 899. You're not quite there yet but some day you'll never want to lay down real money for an inline 4. Btw I'm riding my 1199S just about everyday in December Boston traffic without a single complaint. Swap to the comfort seat and set the suspension to the lightest damping / change wet mode engine to 195hi and it's quite comfortable...and warm ;-)

I have an everyday 2014 S1000RR and don't feel the lull in throttle response except when it's a little dogged from running hard and I'm leaving a dead stop. In fact it is so loud and responsive (in race mode albeit), I went to mess with a friend in an SUV to give him a little throttlehello (bout 9-10k) ended in him not being able to hear sh!t out of his left ear for a few days (he did try to run me over immediately after as well). All funnies aside, this is the best bike I have ever sat on (*been on ducs, triumphs, hondas, kawi's..etc, etc).. In slick mode the front comes up hard on you if you wish it too, wheelies to be had in almost each gear if you want however the speed is just flat out simply amazing. In my opinion, your best $ value is the S1000RR over the HP4. The HP4 is almost unnoticeable gain for anyone but serious track riders and even without the mild hp/torque gain and weight loss the S1000RR will absolutely win you over...95% of the bikes out just can't even come close to touching it.

it was 28* F in NJ this morning thats what, -2 C or something redic like that? lol...and that's the one thing i liked about my K1200s...electronic dampening at the flick of a button...three modes so it was limited but in all honesty do you need anymore then that? I have a Ninja1000 or (Z1000SX for all you guys over seas) now and so far its hands down better than my k1200s was. 3 ABS/Traction Control Modes (that you can turn OFF if you want too thank god) , 2 Power modes, and so much usable power...just an overall better every day bike. ergonomics are pretty spot on for that sport/touring rider with emphasis on the sport and lets face it...its a sexy sport tourer....probably the best looking sport touring bike in its class. Anyways, that's what I chose for my everyday bike and I love every second of it.
