Mr. Pattison, this is exactly what I have needed/been looking for when it comes to OPR. I have been out of the game since 1982 and the best thing about the hobby these days is the shortened learning curve because guys like you take the time to make these videos for dudes like me. Thanks for the effort.

Freedomheit! Splutters his Earl Grey and chokes on muffin. Best laugh I've had since Dick van Dyke's "cockney" accent in Mary Poppins. That was a thoroughly enjoyable run-through of the ins and outs of oil lore. I now look forward to the application demos.

Just as a point of interest. Most of us in the UK have at least one drawer in the kitchen just for tea strainers. Usually the nearest drawer to the kettle.

Spot on Will. Great tutorial for people just getting started in OPR.

My bachelor’s degree was in chemistry, so l love it when you get into the chemistry of paints, except when you mislabel things as organic materials when they’re inorganic (zinc and cadmium). Since you’re background is engineering I understand.

Looking forward to this series as the finale for the P40. I've learned a ton so far, thanks. As a wild hare guess I'd say the unrefined mineral spirits have stronger surface tension and so more pull for the capillary action.

Finally opr for aircraft! Looking forward to seeing your in-depth breakdown of technique on all of the various treatments. As usual the detailed explanations are greatly appreciated. Paint job on the P-40 is amazing, btw, wish you had put some of that on video.

Hi Will, quick question. Do you use a primer or can you apply your oils directly to a section after washing it first?
@IllusionSector3 жыл бұрын
Hey, Will. It seems to me that you trust the color rendition of your printer quite a bit. Is that trust warranted? Or is it that as long as it's close enough and the tones and shades are accurate relative to each other that's fine with you?
@stevec99593 жыл бұрын
Excellent!

Thanks Will! I learned a few things today. That's awesome that you can use so few colors and still get a beautiful finish. Looking forward to the conclusion of the P-40. I'm certain it will be fantastic. One question: is mineral spirit's okay to use on synthetic brushes or will it harm them? Thanks, Vince

all solvents will eventually thrash brushes, so use what you need to. brushes are a disposable tool.

Hi Will. Thanks again for the great video. Ever tied the oil expert medium from VMS. This stuff is reported as being great. Tried it but not fully convinced when compared to pure white spirit.

Alas, “freedom-height”, it seems that the “consencelcius”is that it’s going away from “common” usage. See (hear) ATIS briefings as a example.🤔
