Did the same to my XT 276xxxkm tuned it myself with Pcmtec 10psi moved over the parameters from the turbo BTR with a trans cooler took it to Powercruise and beat the shit out of it, still drives great. Even drove it untuned for a month and did a couple of skids while overboosting. The 182 Barra is incredibly durable you would be amazed at how much are abuse it can take.

Yeah that's awesome, I still don't know near enough to try tuning myself as much as I'd like to. I've been taking it easy as the fuel pump ran out - I'll be making a short video in the coming days recapping the first tuning attempt. But it's a fantastic motor so far, especially given the 340K+ Km's that are on it!

Are you on the PCMtec forums? I'll be starting to tune shortly as I'm doing a manual conversion on my BA wagon. Any guidance would be appreciated.

@@spiritlevelstudios I tend to comb the PCMtech forums for info not really active at all, if you use the search function you should find information on what's required tune wise to switch the auto PCM to understand a manual setup mate its been done before successfully, i would say it would require a strategy code from a manual vehicle, bullet performance website has a list of strategy's for BA onwards. it would probably require merging two strategy's together but i am still in the learning phase myself maybe ask Roland from the forums he seems to be extremely knowledgeable. Hope it goes all well for ya mate it's great fun but time consuming.

@@spiritlevelstudios Also Professional edition is required to obtain factory tunes from the database using a supplied code, whereas Workshop edition supplies a list of factory strategy's without a code needed if that makes sense haha.

Hey mate I'm planning on doing a xr6 turbo conversion just wondering will the stock gearbox be able to handle boost?

Hey bud, mines got a stock t5. Not too sure how they hold power, but aiming for the tune to be pretty timid. I'd assume aggressive torque delivery would kill it quickly, as well as clutch kicking and not being too gentle with the box.
