@@renatowenzel954 No mate the 1930s start in 1930, hence the name "1930s". Not a lot of room for debate there I feel.

@@ashbyman yes there is. Gregorian dates (decades, centuries, start at 1 not year "zero"). When we say "The Fifities" were talking about 5x but 1st Century is 1-100 because start at 1.

Excellent job Paul, thank you. I watched this after trying to play from zero knowledge from the rule book and found it hard to get a feel for how the game works. After round 1 we had 0 energy and thought we must have done something wrong.

Excavators and concrete mixers should have been just a counter of some sort, and white and brown numbered tokens to put in the wheel instead of the fiddly wooden bits. The end game scoring tiles are also described terribly. The last game I played, noone could figure out what the scoring was supposed to be. It's a shame, the game was spruked to be of the highest quality, and then you end up with costume jewelry, thin cardboard and a bad rulebook that doesn't even include printed solo rules.

Excellent video and review. I wish I could say you have helped with my fears, but it is what it is. I hope Cranio will listen to logic and replace the water tokens, fix the rulebooks and even offer an alternative to the wheels. I saw some one suggesting a simple rectangular board where you simply move your excavators one step down until they move off of it. Simple and not fiddly.

A box that fits the game board pieces while they flat will also be nice.

@wheel. The disc/ wheel mechanism is fancy looking. But for practical retail I would have used one carton disc, like Macau / ponzi scheme, eventually put the separation on top of it. So instead of turning the wheel you turn the whole disc. I made my custom wheel in that way.

Thanks for this, Paul... This was one of my key KS games last year (one I was really looking forward to), and although I'm still keen to play it and get my own copy, the KS and production issues have put a bit of a damper on it even before I've received the final product. Good to hear you were at ManorCon (I'm hoping to make it next year!), and hopefully will catch you at MidCon or Protospiell Notts in November. Take care.

This KS project is getting a lot of hate. I haven't seen anything disappointing yet. Nothing in this review alarms me, the game looks fun, the components look fine. I get the water issue, but they are fixing it. So far, so good. Thanks for the info - new sub here. :D

Not sure if you've seen the unboxing videos and pictures from backers, but the wheels are absolutely crap among a myriad of other issues.

Excellent video, so great. Thanks so much. Does anybody know how bonuses on the Company board work? For example when u unlock number 3 Powerhouse and u have for example Germans, French and American whit their special powers. Does this mean that all these nations have now doubled their specialty? And how do these bonuses work do we get them all when we produce energy or just the last one?
@GamingRulesVideos2 жыл бұрын
You only unlock that bonus once you build your 3rd powerhouse. You don't have the bonus at the start of the game (common rules mistake)

I don’t mind bit of competition but How cutthroat is this game? Can you avoid confrontation n do your own thing? Or you need to slap someone face /take that once in awhile kinda
@GamingRulesVideos5 жыл бұрын
The game CAN be cutthroat, but I think generally you want to make the best move for YOU. However, that is likely to mess up someone elses plan if they were planning to build in that location. Because you can use other people's conduits, if you have the dam, but can't afford the conduit, but then I build the conduit, it actually works for both of us.

@@GamingRulesVideos I've heard the edges of the board are raw, exposed cardboard (the paper from the front does not wrap over the edge), and some are concerned about them fraying/separating over time (as chits tend to do).
