I was a little older than her when I started training rodeo skills and barrels. But I was bigger and never that good and only did it for fun. I can’t imagine being her age, having suck a hard first try in front of a huge crowd and not crying and being embarrassed, AND THEN going out for a second run. Good for her.

It wasn't their normal rodeo due to the CCP virus but the WRCA had a number of qualifying rodeos canceled due to social distancing rules in other states so they were able to provide ranch rodeo events. There were other events added in such as this one but I am not sure if they were sanctioned events by PRCA, UPRA, or some other rodeo sanctioning organization.

So stick a small child on a horse with no stop- that runs uncontrolled around the arena..NICE and the Mom has to snatch the horse in the alley to keep it from running off to who knows where..SUPER SAFE.
@ghosttea27562 жыл бұрын
Thankfully, the horse shouldn’t be able to “run off to who knows where.” Besides, it’s the girl’s choice as well as the parents to do this, and I’m sure they’ve done it before. While the horse could have been a bit more responsive, it’s really none of our business. Not our kid, not our parents, probably not someone you know, or will ever know.
@shelbykaymason79292 жыл бұрын
Thankfully no one cares about the ignorance or lack of any real sign of intelligence in your response. The horse “ could have been more responsive?” Oh my you do not know ANYTHING about horses do you?
@ghosttea27562 жыл бұрын
@@shelbykaymason7929 I suppose I do not? Could you explain it to me, please? I do realize now I should have worded that differently. I meant the parents could have put the girl on a horse with a more laid-back temperament, who may not have the “go go go” mindset and that may just slow down, and think. Say, an older horse who just has been there done that, and just knows the pattern- pretty much taking you through it. I do know most barrel horses do have that “competitive”, energetic fiery attitude, though.
