This is the best video yet. I grabbed some tips and like how you coplanted with the Queen Emma's. I've been looking for a more natural looking landscape around a pool cage for a long time. I put stone around our cage as well with a hammock area and deep beds, but this project, without a set bed around it, is very cool to see. Wonderful and relatable...yet grand.

My Favourite on this Video is the Gorgeous Curved Coconut Palm. I have planted in my garden area 3 golden dwarf Malayan coconut palms. I am training Tecoma Stans to be like trees. Look on KZbin Singapore plants yellow bell,, another name for Tecoma Stans.. Also the Callistemon ( bottle Brush) plants grown as small trees. Lastly the pink bougainvillea tree grown next to a Adonidia palm is, just Amazing. I am growing from Seed some Teddy bear palms. Another palm I like is the Carpoxylon. Such a wonderful large green Crown Sharft

True gardener! I’m so glad you mentioned that palms can work with oaks. That’s been one of my issues - I have oaks and a sweet gum in my back yard where I also want a tropical oasis. I hope to get some palms in the ground this summer by following some of your designs.

True Gardener! Random Question from another video - When you plant ‘Song of India’ in a grouping, do you have a specific height or “look” you’re going for? I am having trouble envisioning a grouping without it looking crazy. lol
@TrueGardener8 ай бұрын
Hello Tassi yes usually I use it for a pop of a little wild look around 3-3.5ft I keep it trimmed as even as possible so it’s an upright cluster planting. It can be maintained at a small height, however be careful because it can also grow very tall. If you let it, I tend to like it more compact and dense and thick. Hope this helps some true gardener.

True gardener! Love your videos! I have a question. What metal edging do you use to separate rock from mulch? With our sandy soil, it's so difficult to get any edging to stay in place.
@TrueGardener8 ай бұрын
I use curve rites Aluminum alloy edging. Permoloc is a little easier to find. The Beuta faux brick edging is a great product too.
@yeniseldominguez84938 ай бұрын
Hi Jen, what is the edging that they are using?

Hello! I love watching your videos and your gardens are inspirational! I'm new to the Cape Coral area and want to start my garden. Do I have to kill the grass first or am I able to create a berm using dug up material from our pool that's being installed.
@TrueGardener8 ай бұрын
Hello Gardner, I’m so glad you’re finding inspiration in the videos as for recycling the area under your pool that can be a bit tricky. You want to be cautious using grass because it can break down and cause pockets in the garden making things unlevel I would try to get as much clean soil as you can get into the space to give your new landscaping the best possible start. Wishing u great luck with your new project.

I love your videos. I'm new to South Florida and need help. Can I use sand from pool excavation, to create berm for planting, without removing St. Augustine grass. I've been told yes and no. Help !! Thanks
@TrueGardener8 ай бұрын
Hello re using some sand should be fine however try to remove as much of the grass as possible. Weed seeds are commonly in grass and could constantly come up through planting beds. If they’re not removed sometimes it’s just easier to remove all the grass while you can see it. Good luck gardener.
