Barrett's Privateers - Fast live Pub Scene Acapella Version - Stan Rogers (cover) - Barrett's Privateers is a modern folk song written and performed acapella by Canadian musician Stan Rogers. While there is no better version than Stan's classic Sea Shanty Version of this tune. I am fortunate enough to play at many touring venues on the water and we dock at "Halifax Pier" so this is definitely a staple to play when we are headed home to the dock. In this version I increase the tempo as I like to get through the entire song, all 9 versus with lots of interest from listener's the whole way through and found that this tempo works for me in a live setting so I thought I'd pass it along to you folks. What if you start out slow and gradually increase the tempo after each verse to keep their participation?

I’ve tried it every which way, quick tempo has always worked the better for my live venues
