Thanks Tommy for a lovely video of Barrhead, so many places I remember from when I was a kid running around Barrhead, I moved away in 82 and now aged 60, my grandparents and parents lived in Barrhead and worked there too, I still have family and visit when possible, now living south in the Cotswolds, seems older you get the more you reminisce on the past and memories had, good to see the central cafe, the brig inn and Arthurlie inns, I remember there being a Ford car garage by the Arthurlie inns and the George cinema but sadly gone , thank you again, Mitchell 👍👍

Dan The man. Mills still going strong, your wee ma must have been a big part of that, the fact its survived all this time in Barrhead 👍🏴

Thanks for posting this Tommy. I was 19 in 1992 so this brought back a lot of memories for me. I am now living in Sydney and haven’t been back since 2013 so it was great to see the more recent footage too.

Amazing. Miss the big shute in the park behind the sports centre / hub. Had a look on google msps for the name of the park. Doesn't have one. Google maps seems to think the pub at the opposite side is called Frankiez cafe bar, is the Fereneze shut?

yes it’s shut now

I remember being a member of the 100 break club in the early 80s above the shops I think it was the old Deleren House maybe someone from Barrhead can verify that , anyway I enjoyed it very much

Is peter mulholand still owner of the arthurlie inns and still running around the bar like a headless chicken ( in a good way) i used to get knackered just watching him work behind the bar pouring drinks whilst clearing tables at the same time 😂😂 back in the late 90's in to early 20's

Why does this film have such terrible, noisy music.
