in the old days ,we would have welded a piece of 4 inch pipe to the front of it and been done with it ,it would look like hell ,but it wouldnt bend . 😁 .happy trails ,i hope mrs engineer isnt upset with you bending her new bumper ,but it looks good .

Winch plates are almost always 1/4" minimum, for heavier vehicles they can be 3/8" thick.

rn=Fu(0.6*pi*dw*t) with phi = 0.67 and omega = 2.25 There's a whole math to it. And no gain to making it stronger than the tensile strength of the bolts holding it in.

Hey dude thank you for the years of information and teaching. Where did your shorts go? Remember that legendairy short where you are at Midas touch walking around talking about ls swaps with suvs on both sides of the row and ls engines literally on the ground and you talk about how it’s not in my area, it’s not in my area, well ya that’s cuz your area is the couch and porn hub all day!!! Hahahahaa you fucking rock bro

It's still out there, for a time I had a troll who claimed he was an expert because he managed a Midas 😂

Hey, do you know what vehicles came with the 2wd 4L60E?

Send it back! Make your own. As soon as you double the winch line, it's over and you're stuck. A jeep forum shows multiple pics of how it folded like cardboard.

Yeah, I'm getting a refund, there's no part of this thing I trust at this point

You can reinforce that bumber if they gave you a refund and i am sure they don't want that scrap metal back...

1\2 " at minimum With bracing not just built for show I wanted to be able to hit the rocks and not to form But only Bean less than 3\16 of an inch thick it wouldn't be worth my time
@blackmanops374919 күн бұрын
I'd use 1/2" steel. I ripped up 1/4" steel just pulling a car onto a trailer.

Something is not right. I have that same bumper and have a 12,000 lb winch on it. I have snatched my line back to my bumper and drug my 9,000 work truck in 4 low/park with e break on. Never even tweaked it.
@jacobnorth864219 күн бұрын
Depends on angle of pull and how stuck something is, you can pull something very heavy straight with wheels and not load winch of bumber much. Bury something heavy at extreme any and it looks like game over for bumper, i would be concerned about frames on many newer vehicles too, they claim stronger but not sure there science is sound...
@Cjdavis00218 күн бұрын
@@jacobnorth8642 right. Like I said. Many different scenarios with this exact same bumper. That jeep laid to frame should not bend the bumper unless a support was forgot on manufacturing or the bolts for the winch were loose or something else wrong.

they must have fed the kids that day at the chinese factory.

basically , cheap is expensive. I havent found much that wasnt a scam in some way or another. Avoid products labeled "american" this or that. especially when manufactured in xi xi land.
@bthatguy118118 күн бұрын
Never trust a product named "American" or "Veteran" thats made by people who would rather employ children and slaves in China.

Mojave owners are such drama queens. Extreme Terrain is a GREAT COMPANY with GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Shoulda mounted your winch on a winch plate or paid double retail or support slave labor somewhere else then.
@TheDrivewayEngineer18 күн бұрын
It's true, mounting a 10,000 lb winch on a bumper rated for a 12,000lb winch is just asking for trouble 😂

@@TheDrivewayEngineer drive your jeep around at max rpm and see how long it lasts. Don't be stupid.
