1. Nicole Fawcette, TC's Brand Director went on record to say GoW:E-Day is "A story of many origins." And explicitly stated “[The Chainsaw Lancer] doesn’t currently exist in that period… but it’s not a Gears game if you’re not chainsawing Locust!” This would imply Tai will make an appearance in one way, shape or form. Whether it's a cameo or main character. Also, Tai and Marcus already know each other by this point. 2. Kalona, Tyrus might be counted as a standalone city, but I have a feeling it's close enough to Ephyra to not matter. Dom moved from Jacinto to Ephyra prior to emergence day. And there's no way that Dom could respond to the call to action in Ephyra and make it to Kalona that soon. Unless it was practically the same city. We don't have much info on Kalona, it may be a Ephyran district or it may be it's own city. Or maybe both, time will tell. 3. If we end up leaving Kalona/Ephyra, the next best place would be Jannermont. If we do end up there, finding Sraak's corpse would be cool. And maybe, just maybe, encounter Krav. Jermad. His story is completely blank following the events of Raam's coup. Perhaps, he'd make a fine boss battle! 4. This may be the first ever game appearance of Chairman Tomas Dalyell. The unlucky lad was in power during this disaster! Not that he'll last long anyway. 5. Kim might show up, but there might not be an interaction between him and Marcus. Gears 1 heavily implies the two haven't formally met. Although Kim, by the events of Gears 1, certainly knows about Marcus, due to his trial and conviction. 6. We could definitely see Maria again. She will be different for sure, a little depressed, a little distant. But watching your kids fall into an e-hole kinda does that to people. 7. The description states that Marcus and Dom will bond closer together following the death of Carlos, but it's worth noting they've been sitting on that tension for 2 years. 2 B.E was Operation Leveller and the Pendulum Wars didn't end until two years following. Additionally, assuming they didn't retcon the deep lore; Dom still doesn't know how Carlos died. Just that he was a hero and saved his team. And he wont learn the truth until Bernie lets it slip 14 A.E. Just worth noting during the story. Love your work Barricade. Always great to have folks like you keeping Gears alive! Stay awesome.

I would love it if there was a segment in the game, perhaps near the end, where Marcus and Dom are pinned down by an overwhelming force of Drones-- And then there's a chain of explosions in the distance followed by a voice yelling on the comms _"WELCOME TO THE SURFACE, BABY! WHOOOOOOOO~!"_ as the attackers divert away from Marcus and Dom.

Well they could hear the dialogue from judgment if they push it back that far after e day when they lunch the light mass bomb. Cole doesn't join till a while after e day so if a one day thing it prob won't happen

I think the one that make the most sense for the squad is Tai for sure. They could have Pad make his ingame appearance for E-Day. Who is a recurring character from the books. They could do easter eggs/cameo's for Baird and Cole but it wouldn't make much sense lorewise for them to meet since they dont canonically meet until Gears 1. They should definitely be part of the multiplayer though.

If the campaign follows E-Day and the opening moments and months then we can get a Baird and Cole cameo as members of Kilo squad. Marcus was at Halvo Bay when Kilo dropped the missile and if they didn’t want to include that part then they could at least mention them in a collectible you find or you overhear their trial from brief dialogue between gears or over the radio.

Baird wanted to become an engineer but was forced to joined the military because his parents wouldn’t give him his inheritance otherwise (high society family basically) They died on E-Day and Baird enlisted afterwards. Cole was with a few other people on his way to discuss a contract renewal with his agent when the raidos and the emergency news broadcasted the events E-Day, specifically his hometown of jannermont where his mother and father died. After playing a Thrashball game that was ordered to continue by the COG Chairman at the time, Cole publicly made his decision to enlist in the Army, which upped recruitment rate by alot.

I think Tai is by far the most likely to make an appearance. I wouldn’t be surprised if they retcon the timeline a little so that Tai saves Marcus with the chainsaw (thus inspiring the chainsaw lancer) during the events of this game. GOW usually has squads of 4, even if most of the campaigns are only two player Co-Op. Maybe this games main 4 consists of Marcus, Dom, Tai and Rojas? If you’ll recall Rojas was the dead COG Soldier that Dom seems to have some history with given his dialogue when they found his corpse in GOW1. I also think it would be really neat for the prologue of this game to show Dom with Maria and their kids, kind of akin to the prologue of Fallout 4 where you get to spend like 10 minutes experiencing what the world was like pre-war.

You do realise the timeline wouldn't face any retcon if Tai saved Marcus to help influence the creation of the MK2, right? In the novels, Tai saves Marcus using a power saw to kill a locust and that's where Marcus and his dad get the idea from.

The bloodied vanguard are literally the 50 first of the locust plus those are probably the same guys you fight in the first game, and then what's left of them become under the command of scourge, it would be also interesting if most of them made up the queen's guard.

Its likely we will see Hoffman, Tai, Dizzy and maybe a different carmine brother. Baird is unlikely as he was in a different platoon, and Cole was still a thrashball player. Could see some easter eggs from his playing days like in GOW3. Would be cool to see a younger badass Kim. Maybe he can have a fight with raam but survives, which is why Raam wanted him for himself in GOW1?!?!?

I think its going to be a long prequel and the story takes place on eday and per act the time jumps some. I feel Sraak will be the villian along with his actual size because he dwarfs raam. Lore wise we would only defeat him because raam has to kill him. Id like to see Tai maybe even a reference to how marcus met him in the jungle during pendulum wars.

Also i think your on the money with Tai is for Gears of War E-day it all lines up well with no clear story for him on eday and like you said he gives the idea for the chainsaw bayonet. But for the 4th character(since theres usually 4 members in delta) it could be a carmine who dies and gets replaced like Anthony or like you said Sam since she also has no clear eday story basically making it where they can do whatever they want with her and she has a connection with Dom in Gears of War 3

My wishlist for Gears of War E-Day. I have a strong feeling this 1st one will be included, dont start off immediately on Emergence Day, like show us the final days of the pendulum wars, then have a segment of Sera enjoying peace during those 6 weeks after the U.I.R. surrender. And yes Marcus and dom don't meet cole and Baird till gears of war 1 but try shifting between the perspectives of other characters during E-day. Like id love to see Garron Paduk during the fall of Gorasnia by General Karn. Have the carmine family trying to escape the chaos. Young Clay, anthony, Ben, and unnamed 4th carmine brother. Include Cole's speech at hanover stadium as he enlisted in the army to fight the locust.

Marcus hadn’t heard of Baird - he’d only heard him talk over the radio network when he was contacting Cole. Because Baird was quite aggressively/sarcastic demanding help, it wasn’t hard for him to guess who he was when he heard him talk (they were in a group of other survivors).

They could also role us into those first few scenerios from the first gears game and what if they decided to present the story in segments instead of as a whole one take. It's so much that happens alot of ground to cover. I think it would be a mistake to stick with just Marcus and Dom. And they have to introduce us to queen myrahh again. My theory for why we going back to E-Day us to potentially set up something much more sinister and foreboding for gears of war 6. We are getting introduced to the prodecessesors of the new generation and its possible we might get the Scorpion team since they we around during this time and didnt get locked up. I could see Lahni with Tai maybe Lahni would've been just getting home from the wars and went to celebrate with her cousin.

I think Tai has an extremely high probability of appearing as TC did say that will show the backstory of multiple things and said something along the lines of "Gears isn't Gears without you chainsawing a Locust" so I believe in the last act of the game we will get a scene of Tai using the buzzsaw on a Locust and the Lancer Mk. 2 being in the past missions

I'd love to see Bernie and Tai. Baird was at odds with his parents. They wanted him to join the infantry part of the military. Or they wouldn't leave Damon Baird any money. Damon eventually did. But as an engineer. This was just before E-day. So, possibly, he could be referenced.

Not sure on Baird or Cole. I know Baird was with Kilo squad earlier in the War from Judgements game play. But Marcus made an appearance over the radio. So depending on the battle he could show. Tai should show up as he was around Marcus and Dom in the books during this time frame as the whole idea of the Lancer with the chainsaw came from Marcus watching Tai take a chainsaw and slice up a grub.

I've been wanting them to make an official map of Tyrus and Sera with all the nations and cities and the Jacinto Plateau and whatnot. But apparently the developers said that won't happen because they want flexibility for stories. I do hope they give Kalona a lot of personality as a city, make us feel sad that it's being destroyed.

If jermad is in e day he better be the first boss to survive and becomes the general of the swarm Plus I hope we get to see Ty and Jace. Since they were part of omega squad and were there when they thought adam died when he actually survived the rubble, and then prescott had him evacuated to auzra not to mention I would love to see multiple campaign chapters of e.Day like resident evil six Especially playing a locust campaign after beating the cog campaign like aftermath for judgment

I hoped Jermad would be a Locust General after V-Day. Since the Brash Brigade fought the remnants of the Locust after Gears 3. I would also love Jermad being an Antagonist in the E-Day campaign.

If we see Baird and Cole it’ll most likely be cameos like Cole I’m sure we’ll see a couple posters / bill boards as for Baird dunno we might not see him at all it’s the Locust I’m excited for like a young Raam would be cool too and his predecessor those are the only ppl I expect to see other then Hoffman and the chairman Anya that’s a big maybe lookin forward to the game

Tai being part of Marcus and dom original line up would be really cool but in the gears comics lore Marcus finds Tai in a tribal clan in the jungle and asks tai to join the cog, this happens either half a decade after e day or a full decade after e day

Well if we go by with gears of war judgment it takes place 6 weeks after E day and Baird had to save Marcus’s squad so it’s possible they’ll make an appearance

Is Gears Judgment happen around the same time? Baird is a LT. and Cole is a fresh recruit and there is Colonel Loomis instead of Hoffman.

Loomis only commanded the onyx guard and judgment takes place a month after e day

If the did include RAAM, it wouldn’t just be RAAM they’d encounter as Skorge was actually present with him in the Jannermount battle. They went to the surface together In the first attack.

Except in theory they can't encounter either villain (nor witness them) as Marcus and Dom's first time seeing each villain were in their respective entries of the series. Otherwise it causes some continuity issues of their knowledge of RAAM and Skorge during GoW1/2

@@markjones5672 Which is correct, for Skorge, which I feel if Skorge was to be included in this game it would be through multiplayer. However RAAM could be used, as originally we all thought Gears 1 was when Minh & RAAM first met when he was later killed, but later we found out Kim & RAAM met in Gears 3’s RAAM’s shadow dlc. So Marcus’s reaction to Kim’s death in Gears 1 & seeing RAAM could be a “fearful reaction” & a remembrance reaction from when he saw him on E-Day? Just a thought.. If neither are used I feel they could use Jermad or Vrol as a sub boss for this game.
