We run 2 of these , and economy is off the scale brilliant . The reason it is so good is the enormous torque 235ft/lb @1500rpm. This also gives an amazing performance. The" front end" is brilliant giving very accurate steering, brilliant handling , and tyre wear for me was 25,000for set of front tyres which is testimony to quality of suspension set up. Much better car than a golf cannot understand why these aren't appreciated. (Daughter got a golf ) I have regularly achieved 80 mpg driving normally (not like and old fart)

I’ve just bought one of these, what a great car?! I’m getting over 67mpg so far on 3/4 of a tank, 510 miles, that cost £48, (£1.17 per litre) remarkeable! There seem to be no compromises. It’s quiet, nippy, torquey, loads of kit, room for 5 and an enormous boot/ trunk. The magic seats in the rear, look very handy. The sound system is good, I love the dash, the quality of the materials are really good, no vibrations or creaks and squeaks. I’m really looking forward to driving it on a really long run, which I hope to be doing in September, from Fife, Scotland to Mousehole at the far end of Cornwall. A great video, thanks for this and many thanks for selling cars, the right and safe way.

HI Robert, hope you are doing well. I am looking to buy a car like this in few days. Can you give me some advice? It’s a 66 number plates 1.6 diesel and has a 78k on clock. Thx a lot. Mery Christmas

@@radubanari Hi Radu, sorry, I’ve only just seen your response, I should look daily for comments. There is not a lot to say, just get one if you’ve the budget for one. The go to hatch for this class of car is the Golf equivalent, I guess. They must outsell the Civic 4-1 in the UK,which is a shame. The only advantage I can see from reading motoring publications, is that the Golf has more shoulder room in the back and some folk may feel the visibility out the back is better. However, the engine, gearbox trunk/boot, reliability, seating configurations, amount of kit, price and looks(in my opinion) are all superior. The only issue I’ve had with it, is that a glow plug has just failed, which is not unusual in a diesel. In practice, it’s not an issue, it starts everytime, first time, it just means a light comes up on the dash. The thing that really stood out for me, is the quietness, the smoothness of ride and the unreal fuel economy. It handles well, is super stable, really quiet on the motorway, wind noise is near non existent, there are no squeaks, rattles or vibrations, it really is that good. The torque is a surprise for a 1.6 unit, hit only 2000 revs and it takes off out of a roundabout, it has a really good turn of speed. Space wise, it’s great for moving stuff around, drop the back seats and it’s like a small van and there is a large compartment under the boot floor, for keeping essentials out the way and the rest of the boot tidy. the magic seats are super handy, too. I knew they were good before I bought one, I was just surprised it how good it has been though. I wouldn’t give it a second thought, in the class, I think they are almost certainly the best bet.

I bought Civic Tourer 1.8iVtec. R18Z4 engine is simple reliable build if not one of the most reliable engines on the roads out there. 1.6 dtec is fine but short trips are killing such engine. 1.8Ivtec can take a lot of beating and still cover 200.000k miles without any serious issues. What to wish for more.

The previous model is better looking in my opinion. Much more sporty looking. I totally agree with the stop start. I've got it on my Renaut Kadjar, first thing I do is switch it off.

I have reserved a blue 2017 sport tourer to pick up in a couple of weeks. I have had a 2007 2.2ctdi EX civic from new and absolutely love it but at 15 years old and 118000 miles it's starting to cost me some money in faults so I'm part exing against the tourer at a honda dealer. Will miss my 2007 Civic very much but looking forward to the 2017 sport tourer. 😀

How would you compare this to the Focus you tested a few months back? I was looking tor a petrol version of this gen Civic, but the rear three-quarter vision is borderline dangerous in my opinion. We even lost sight of you when you did the little walk-around at the start of the vid - and you don't look like a small guy!

I think the Civic would perhaps hold its value better, but i like the simple lines of the Focus

what would you say is the max mile to honda civic buy. 60k miles?
@themindset332910 ай бұрын
I consider that to be the maximum acceptable mileage for any used car, and the further below it you can go, the better. The most reliable car can be problematic if it's been driven wrong, and the worst car can be brilliant if taken care of, but after 60k miles you can't have any guarantee whatsoever
