first job Google the garage, check their testimonials, if the majority are bad then dont even go, however dont take any notice of moaners or stupid people, or professional moaner (there testimonials stand out a mile and they are never happy no matter what you do) injectors don't cost to much if they do fail, but we have never had any problems with them, before you get to the test drive stage check the MOT history online as that shows any fails in the past and any advisories on the last one that will probably have gotten worse and will have to be repaired on the next mot, see when the cam belt is due. When you go for a drive make sure that you see and hear the car start and feel the bonnet to make sure it hasnt been "warmed up" before you got there, look for smoke out of the exhaust when it starts, uneven tickover, check the oil and water before, look for water in the oil and oil in the water, check tyres for uneven wear and the inside rims of the alloys ( with all the speed bumps and pot holes these days lots of alloy are virtually square and affect the ride of the car, also check the side walls of the tyres. on the drive look out for smoke from the exhaust when you accelerate, listen for any whines, knocks, bumps, and anything that you can feel through the steering wheel, is the steering wheel straight, does that car pull to the left or right, does the air con work. check the body work, do the windows feel rough to the tough or body panels, (sign of overspray) is there any paint on the rubbers, round the door handles, badges, is it all the same colour, under the bonnet check to see that the bolts that hold the wings on havent been disturbed, if they have usually some of the paint has been chipped off, just tsatisfy your self that it hasnt been involved in a major bump., and always be prepared to walk away , if something isnt right, there will always be another. and if the car hasnt been prepped right and checked before you drive it, chances are the garage are shit (imho) ps if you buy private beware and always make sure you do your own HPI check on the car to make sure its not on finance, or been involved in a bad accident Barrie

@@BarrieCrampton well I just purchased the c max titanium x 1.6 2013 and thanks to you I had good advice I got a best deal on my Nissan note from any other local garage and the guy gave a 2 yr labour and parts guarantee on it which I think is s good deal. It is same colour as this one and not a mark on it and everything works, 12 mths mot on it . I'm quite confident of choice and garage when you don't buy these things once in a blue moon its daunting but this video and Mr Crampton you have been a huge help. Thanks a lot
