What a superbly presented history lesson, accompanied by some lovely looking scenery. To anyone who grew up in Northern Europe, no matter what the country, the stories of war, rapid changes in economic fortunes and significant industrial buildings burning down on a regular basis will be all quite familiar. Thank you for taking the time to make this, really enjoyed it.

Thanks very much and indeed much of Europe would have similar but more brutal and recent versions of these stories

Just came across your channel and subscribed. Found your video of the Barrow, a path I cycle all year round. If you don’t mind me saying, the Timelapse doesn’t do the route justice. Great historical context but from a cycling perspective think normal speed video would show the stunning beauty and a glimpse of this marvellous natural corridor. Just a thought but kudos deserved on your research!

I sort of agree in that running in real time with the sounds of the river and wildlife would have a lot going for it and my earliest videos are me doing that in the Wicklow mountain. However for technical reasons like battery life and time reasons (both mine in editing and viewer attention) the Timelapse is a compromise between seeing all the route without spending days or hours in front of the computer (editing took me about 6-8 hours). The cut in panning shots with actual audio are I tended to try and add a little bit back in

Love your videos Andrew. Do you need nobbly tyres for cycling the grassy blueway or do you just have the stock standard ones?
@EbiketouringlifeАй бұрын
I have standard 28mm which while not ideal got me there - you’d do a better speed on fat tires & suspension but of course lose speed on surfaces sections

great bit of cycling Andrew.looked very heavy going on that grass tho.(BTW) did you buy the new reise n muller.
@EbiketouringlifeАй бұрын
It was very heavy going. I wasn’t buying it, simply riding it for the purposes of review, however if I sell a kidney anything is possible

@@Ebiketouringlife Andrew one thing you don't address is how much these tours cost you .videos are great very well made thanks for sharing .

@@anthonykelly5 I’ve started adding costs where I remember them for meals & accommodation but perhaps that might make a good video on itself. In this case I didn’t keep a record for the Weatherspoons breakfast (7?) the supermarket lunch & can of beer (15?) or the chip shop chicken (7?) and I think the train home was about 15.
