Thanks for bringing so many games to light that I've never heard of. This one passed me by the first time round, and we've just started playing it and having a great time. It seems to be absolutely chock full of 1970s Doctor Who references - indeed, it's pretty obviously based on the Who story Stones of Blood. A lovely bonus. Keep up the good work!

@@docneale7534 So glad you’re enjoying it! Yea, it did have a lot of Doctor Who vibes. I stopped watching a l o n g time ago, but I still have fond memories of 10 and 11. Hope the puzzles don’t drive you too crazy- I recall some of them being rough around the edges

@@vote4holt The navigation is pretty bad and it's really easy to miss stuff. It's of its time, for sure. Great atmosphere though.

Oh my god, for the life of me, I could never remember what this game was called. I got it when i was 16 and it scared the crap out of me. I saw that gas station and immediately recognized it, haha!

This let's play is the perfect mix of spooky and relaxing for a cosy autumn night, I enjoyed it immensely! I hadn't heard of this game before either and I'm kind of obsessed now, it feels like an episode of The X Files! That rock jumpscare was epic 😂 It does seem very hard to tell what you can interact with or not though, I was flabbergasted when you couldn't look at the note under the hat!

that's right, me too, but it seems to me... the gamer speaks along the game... dommage !

Hehehe glad to see someone else appreciated these vibes as much as I did :] Barrow Hill was far from perfect but it was SUCH a mood. Slowly becoming an autumn classic for me.

omg. I got this when it first came out. I was 14. I saw this and I was like "oh my god, it's that game I only ever got twenty minutes into because I was a stupid 14-year-old and never finished it." my spirit is now at peace.

LOL always fun being hunted by petrified turds. I played this game years back, and one of my favorite YT CJUGames played this game. Gotta say you and your friend of GF should play The Lost Crown: A Ghost-Hunting Adventure. Its one of my favorite Point-&-Click games and I call it the Deadly Preminition of Adventure games. Bad 3D Models/Animations, bad Voice-Acting, very awkard events and such, but really engaging story, bizzare and colorful characters, and a pretty creapy atomasphere. Some of the developers of Barrow Hill worked on The Lost Crown.

Dude I actually discovered CJUGames in the process of my let’s play! Whenever I was super stumped id watch his playthrough to pick up on little things I missed, he’s great. The Lost Crown has been committed to memory 100%, I’ll throw it on my steam wishlist. Likewise I’ll have to pick up one of your games as well that you mentioned in stream the other day 👀👀

I've finally finished watching the playthrough :) I played this game myself last year and found it quite easy to solve - you just follow the archaeological reports about what was found in the soil at each stone. However, I live in a place much like Barrow Hill (though less spooky) with lots of barrows, stone circles & quoits nearby. Lots of people celebrate religious festivals, equinoxes & solstices at them. Maybe that's why I found the game easier!

Love this game! You should also play the Dark Fall series - 4 games so far and they're all fantastic. Ghost Vigil that came out last year was really, really good!

I'm making this comment six seconds into the video because this already looks like EXACTLY the kind of game I would have loved as a kid -- and would still love now, to be honest. I'm super-hyped to watch this for Halloween!

Duuude, I completed this game many years ago and was NOT expecting any of you guys to play this!! It was difficult and I consulted a guide a couple of times. Looks like you missed the CCTV camera footage that you can play in the VCR, though! I always found the idea of sentient rocks literally chasing people down kinda funny

Was definitely an experience! Even though I was totally in over my head and was clueless with so many puzzles I’m definitely glad I played it, maybe one of these days I’ll try and play it genuine and figure out how all the puzzles are constructed 👀

Please play the sequel, it's on Steam too Also, Shivers and 7th Guest are good old horror games too. The soundtrack for Shivers alone was enough to give me nightmares as a kid

Man the pieces of the 7th guest I’ve seen look so bizarre. I’d be down to try it, but a barrow hill sequel could be more fun to tackle first.

Does anyone know the art style of this game or games that look like this called? I know it's a point and click game but that's all. I'm asking because I'd be interested in making a game with a similar style.
@vote4holt5 ай бұрын
@@passionneal7777 It’s your run-of-the-mill point and click adventure horror from the early 2000’s. Stylistically, a lot of its characters are stop-motion animated photos of real people, which might be helpful to you, but that’s really about all I could say about the art style
@passionneal77775 ай бұрын
@@vote4holt Thanks a lot. I won't think about it to hard
@vote4holt5 ай бұрын
@@passionneal7777 if you’re new to game design and looking to make a point and clicker, my friends in the industry recommend using GameMaker. Making a video game is always challenging the first time around, but I’m told that is a free engine that performs very well for point and click game creation :)
