@@WHlSKYtx in 1998 when Sosa and McGwire were having that home run race and being heralded as the saviors of baseball (after the 1994 strike) Barry sort of went unnoticed, kind of disrespected. that year Barry became the only member of the 400 home run and 400 stolen base club, but nobody paid attention. Everybody knew players were juicing, and at the time the commissioner was looking the other way. It was probably around this time he at least started thinking about it. When the steroid scandal hit the main stream, the commissioner threw everybody under the bus. Point being: Barry was lured in. That commissioner is in the Hall of Fame, Barry should be also.

Bonds out there intentionally setting all his records in his home ballpark because he was so good. There's no one even close to his level. The next best hitter is Ted Williams and he's about 15% worse than bonds. There's no peers for barry. Roids have nothing to do with any of that. Ted Williams is the greatest hitter of all time. You might look at Barry Bonds an go wow, he hit great and had a terrific batting average.. he was also on Steroids. Ted Williams hit a .400 season. He also very nearly over .400 again twice in his career had over 500 home runs and his other stats were pretty damned good. He wasn't much a fielder. Now contrast the fact he left Baseball during his peak TWICE, first time to join the US Airforce in World War 2 - he became an Airforce Captain, had at least 5 verified kills making him an Ace pilot and then he did it again in Korea. He hit something like.. .388 at age 39? And you want to want to believe Barry Bands is a better hitter? Give me a break.

Barry is right about 2-way Shohei. Best to focus on hitting/DH and be an option as a reliever. Maybe spot starts. @daitran5745 he already got Tommy John surgery he's human. If he continues to do both it will shorten his career. He should just continue batting and only come out as a reliever to save his shoulder

well to say he's confident is a huge understatement lol, but it totally makes sense that the best hitter in mlb history would be. it's a crime he's not in hall of fame and he will be there eventually. just look at his stats. unbelievable! and i know someone will bring up steroids, but i think he won 2 or 3 mvp's before that, atl least 2. he was a gold glove defender and great baserunner. but to anyone that doesn't realize how great barry was, please pull up his stats.
