Comedy genius one of my favourite Sir Les lines is he said there's a rumour going round there's no culture down in Australia we'll lm here to tell ya we got it coming out of our arse?? I remember attending his show in London many years ago. I think the Less Patterson character had just been evolved so when he walked on stage after the interval, and with the house lights still on, nobody recognised him. He introduced himself as the Australian Cultural Attaché and it took a while before people realised that it was Barry Humphries. Needless to say he was hilarious. RIP Sir Less.

The interesting thing about the shows up for the award is that the winner seems to have completely disappeared from the TV listings. The other show turn up regularly on British television despite being rather old.
