People saying that Oliver has no right to give Barry relationship advice are SO WRONG AND OFF THE MARK. This ISN'T RELATIONSHIP ADVICE. This is advice to forgo the relationship and let her go. While yes, Iris and Felicity both are capable and strong women who can make their own decisions- Oliver has been doing this longer and he's had not one but TWO girl friends/women he's loved DIE on him. He knows the risks and Barry JUST got into this life. Oliver is right to warn Barry about Iris because getting into a relationship with her would put her in MORE danger and could have devastating results. It would be selfish for Oliver and Barry be with Iris and Felicity and bringing them further into their life. With Oliver it's a bit different because Felicity is already involved but Barry bringing Iris into his life as the Flash AND date her? Oliver has every right to give Barry this advice and while Oliver may be terrible with relationships, he knows the consequences all too well when something can go wrong. Eventually both men will realize they need to be with their girl and we all want them together, etc. But as of right now, this is still the right thing to do.

I think Oliver was right to give advice. He is probably factoring in that he doesn't want Barry to ruin a perfectly happy relationship. Iris is happy Eddie! They have a good relationship! Barry can tell Iris how he feels but not as the Flash, he needs to do it as Barry. It is also more dangerous for Iris because she does not know his identity. If he wants to keep her in the dark, he needs to distance his romantic attachment to her. Just a thought. I think Oliver gave thoughtful advice and he deserves credit for that.

Why is everyone complaining that Oliver shouldn't be the one to give Barry relationship advice? I think it's good that Oliver gave him that advice. For Barry: It made him realise that Iris was the one and it made him confess his feelings for her. In season 2, Iris confessed her feelings for Barry and they eventually got together. For Oliver: While he was giving Barry that advice, it made him realise that he wants to be with Felicity but doesn't want to put her in danger. That's why he said "guys like us don't get the girl" getting the girl would put her in more danger. Even though she knows his identity and if Oliver started a relationship with her, it would put her in danger. At this point, both Barry and Oliver knew their hearts were with their girl. That's why they both pursued them. Oliver and Barry could have easily moved on but they didn't, why? Because they loved them too much.
