I had the pleasure of seeing him perform on Friday at radio city music Hall. His music saved my life as a child. When my parents were fighting arguing, I would lock myself in my room and play my fathers albums to drain the screams out I’m 51 years old today and I cried like a baby when he came out, this was my number one. Wish was to see him perform live. I took my daughter with me that’s 31 years old and it made me feel so good when she started singing your songs and you all the words put me because I did that she grew up, listening to his music because of me. Barry, you will never know how much your music that’s affected my life and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for that that was the best concert I’ve ever been to and I had the best time of my life on Friday. Thank you Barry Manilow thank you Barry Manilow.❤❤❤❤❤❤

I experienced the same thing, but every time I listen to this song, I always try to bring the best happiness to the family At most it's just the wife who often gets angry with the children, but every Saturday and Sunday, the four of us are obliged to go out together, eat deliciously together, and try not to make a fuss over the food. I will always try to be a better father, I don't want to repeat the suffering I experienced in my childhood I will write a good history for the family I built, I will make the family happy before I breathe my last breath

It is precisely two years since this was posted, synchronistically. I remember hearing this on PA systems when it was popular, and it was unavoidable. In those days pop music was unavoidable. I was a student of classical 'cello and a freshman in college. Listening to the words I thought, then, how arrogant to write as if all music comes from this one human. . . I did not know Manilow went to school where he did. I dismissed it as an overplayed pop earworm. But today I stumbled onto this video for the first time and really listened, and looked at the song from a different perspective, from an archetypal POV. With the orchestra, live, hearing that last held vowel and his powerful voice, and I have to thank him. This is a great song, most meaningful lyrically, and it isn't just the young girls who respond with tears. Thank you Barry Manilow, musicians and crew, thank you all.

I get all leaky-eyed when I watch this. Barry, dear, my life's soundtrack is FILLED with your songs. This song, along with "One Voice" were instruments of racial harmony when I was in middle school. We would ALL sing your songs together in choir and then, when the bell rang, our harmonies would spill out through the hallways and others would join in! Bless you bless you bless you!!!!

You just don’t get talent like this any more. The apex of vulnerability. The risks he takes with the change of key and everything even just being him and his piano at times. His back up singers were amazing and so was the band. The audience didn’t know they were going to witness musical perfection that night but they did.

Barry.....................This version of the spectacular song is I think the best one Your voice is especially clear and wonderful in this video. Barry, you can do any style of music you choose and sometimes your Brooklyn accent comes through and then I have to chuckle a bit. Did you know that Jackie Gleason was from Brooklyn? I tape Johnny Carson's old Tonight Show and he gets some really great guests and last night, it was Jackie Gleason and I thought of you when he mentioned Brooklyn and how tough it was there...................................Betsy Blue-Eyes

What can I say, Barry's a hottie. His eyes and nose melted my heart at 16, now I'm 60 and he still makes me wish I had a clone of him. LOL

Yep, those eyes are to die for. Even now at age 79, he still looks good.

It seems at this part of his career, Barry appeared to have a sort of natural peace of mind. I hope that was true as he truly was his own man.
