I ran into Billy, just he and I. He spent 30 minutes with me like I was the only Sooner fan. I say he is one of the nicest people I have ever heard of. He talked about coach, games, players. He and I are about the same age, his memory and ability to tell stories is amazing. He was on his way to a business meeting, he could have passed me buy. If you, Billy reads this, Thank You. SOONER!!!

I was one of those folks when talking to Billy I asked how Coach was doing. Next thing you knew, I was on the phone talking to Coach for a good twenty minutes. Both are truly part of what has made the Sooner Dynasty what it is!

Switzers memory is amazing. He remembers every play and every stat for every game he coached. Wow

It's really great to hear that Coach Switzer hasn't lost a step. He can't wait to talk, then he doesn't want to stop talking, and he tells those stories like they were yesterday.

Nobody I dont think ever got mad at Billy for his fumble that was a sad moment because we saw him hurting and we knew Oklahoma was the best team in the nation!

I’ll never forget when Switzer walked into the dressing room after the game and looked at Billy and said that’s the number one player in America.

After watching that it's easy to see why Barry Switzer is called The players coach many times, he really does care about his athletes, even decades after they've played for him.

the 78 ou nebraska game was absolutely the hardest hitting game i ever seen!
@MarkFloyd74512 жыл бұрын
The hit Billy took would have jarred the ball loose from any back. That was one of the hardest hits I've ever seen. Those other 5 fumble lost killed OU as well.
@daltonmann49162 жыл бұрын
switzer made a statement on the oklahoma legends video that me realize what a no holds barred fight this game was. he was talking about nebraska's defense and he stated "the black shirts back then are not the black shirts of today!" he is absolutely correct! there were several games in this series where both teams were really good but were exceptional on defense. '87 ou/ nebraska is another one!

@@MarkFloyd7451 Well Oklahoma played Nebraska again in the 🍊 Orange Bowl, an anomaly, because back then the Big 8 champion got that bowl bid, Nebraska Big 8 champion and Oklahoma Big 8 runners up

Mr. Sims you are phenomenal as an athlete, person and love your bbq too! What will you take for that picture you took down on the renovation at the Owasso Billy Sims BBQ…the one where you left Bob Stoops with an armload of air? Coach Switzer, my Dad used to have Mom not answer the front door or answer the telephone when you and the Sooners were on the field playing! We watched your post game show and it meant so much. Thanks for all you have done to help people on and off the field…
