Written by the legendary Graham Gouldman who also wrote the hits "For Your Love" and "Heart Full of Soul" and "Evil Hearted You" for The Yardbirds; "No Milk Today" and "Listen People" for Herman's Hermits; "Pamela Pamela" for Wayne Fontana; along with another hit for the Hollies "Look Through any Window". He wrote or co-wrote pretty well all the songs for his band 10CC as well.

Herman's Hermit had Bus Stop on one their albums, but they originally were offered it as a single before the Hollies. Herman's Hermit in 1965 through the middle of 66 was the only band to out-sell the Beatles. I would like to suggest the Rascals as a 60's group to try out

Love this group. The Hollies are a British pop rock group formed in 1962 & known for their great harmonies. They had so many hit songs such as "Stop Stop Stop", "On A Carousel", "Carrie Anne", "Here I Go Again", "Pay You Back With Interest", "Look Through Any Window", "King Midas In Reverse", "Jennifer Eccles" etc. "Graham Nash" was originally in this group & left in 1968 to form "Crosby, Stills & Nash".

Loving your reaction as always, guys. For some reason, out of the blue at the end, It just jumped into my head that you may not have heard Along Comes Mary by The Association, also from the 60s. It was a huge hit and so different for them but it was groundbreaking in a lot of ways and it's just totally a kick-ass song. To me it has elements of modern so-called spitting as in hip-hop.

This song is very early Hollies, back when Grahm Nash was still with the group (and before he left to join "Crosby Stills & Nash"). Their career has spanned several decades starting in the mid 60's. They were one of the premier British Invasion groups, and also one of the longest lasting. They had a few personnel changes along the way but continued on without a breakup or reunion. Another great Hollies song is "Don't Let Me Down" (This is from the same era as "The Air That I Breath"). Other songs from the "Bus Stop" era include "Carrie Anne", "Look Through Any Window", "Stop Stop Stop", "Pay You Back with Interest", "Just One Look", "Dear Eloise" and "On a Carousel."

You will hear all these hits from time to time at stores and such, but we're so focused on other things we tend to not notice. I'll watch someone react to a song, they'll say "seems familiar", then within a couple of weeks I'll hear that song when out somewhere. Not always but not unusual for that to happen.

I had this as my number 1 all-time greatest songs at one point. It's still up there. Very add that it is nothing like any other song in my top ten. Rihanna sang "Now it's raining more than ever. Know that we still have each other. You can stand under my umbrella. ella, ella, eh, eh, eh, under my umbrella." Speaking of the Beatles, the guitarist for the Hollies is Tony Hicks. His son, Paul Hicks, is working with Beatles' producer George Martin's son, Giles Martin, to remix all the Beatles albums.

As a not so innocent 18 year old I saw their first ever gig as The Hollies at the Oasis club in Manchester in 1962. You have now reacted to The Hollies' four best songs IMO. Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress and He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother are my favourites by them.
