Written by the legendary Graham Gouldman who also wrote the hits "For Your Love" and "Heart Full of Soul" and "Evil Hearted You" for The Yardbirds; "No Milk Today" and "Listen People" for Herman's Hermits; "Pamela Pamela" for Wayne Fontana; along with another hit for the Hollies "Look Through any Window". He wrote or co-wrote pretty well all the songs for his band 10CC as well.

Herman's Hermit had Bus Stop on one their albums, but they originally were offered it as a single before the Hollies. Herman's Hermit in 1965 through the middle of 66 was the only band to out-sell the Beatles. I would like to suggest the Rascals as a 60's group to try out

Love this group. The Hollies are a British pop rock group formed in 1962 & known for their great harmonies. They had so many hit songs such as "Stop Stop Stop", "On A Carousel", "Carrie Anne", "Here I Go Again", "Pay You Back With Interest", "Look Through Any Window", "King Midas In Reverse", "Jennifer Eccles" etc. "Graham Nash" was originally in this group & left in 1968 to form "Crosby, Stills & Nash".

This song is very early Hollies, back when Grahm Nash was still with the group (and before he left to join "Crosby Stills & Nash"). Their career has spanned several decades starting in the mid 60's. They were one of the premier British Invasion groups, and also one of the longest lasting. They had a few personnel changes along the way but continued on without a breakup or reunion. Another great Hollies song is "Don't Let Me Down" (This is from the same era as "The Air That I Breath"). Other songs from the "Bus Stop" era include "Carrie Anne", "Look Through Any Window", "Stop Stop Stop", "Pay You Back with Interest", "Just One Look", "Dear Eloise" and "On a Carousel."

I had this as my number 1 all-time greatest songs at one point. It's still up there. Very add that it is nothing like any other song in my top ten. Rihanna sang "Now it's raining more than ever. Know that we still have each other. You can stand under my umbrella. ella, ella, eh, eh, eh, under my umbrella." Speaking of the Beatles, the guitarist for the Hollies is Tony Hicks. His son, Paul Hicks, is working with Beatles' producer George Martin's son, Giles Martin, to remix all the Beatles albums.
