Supergroups were so big in the 80's-90's. Wish there were musicians today that would just get together and have fun like this. Another great supergroup is Asia. They are made up of John Wetton of King Crimson, Steve Howe & Geoff Downes of Yes and drummer Carl Palmer of Emerson, Lake & Palmer. Heat Of The Moment, Only Time Will Tell, Go, Don't Cry are some of their biggest songs.
@williamjones603116 күн бұрын
They only have two albums but what's on them speak for themselves. This "SUPERGROUP" got together, and Tommy asked what name they should use and Uncle Ted said, "I don't know about you, but we look like a bunch of Damn Yankees" A great song from this album is "Dirty Dog". I think you'll enjoy doing that one.

@bentighe481119 күн бұрын
The point of a supergroup is that game recognizes game, and you have to assemble a group of high-level operators who want to play together. Each member of the band was a musician's musician, and they had two amazing singers (Shaw and Blades) and a third very confident and capable singer (Nugent). Most people don't know the drummer (Michael Cartellone), but he's also a virtuoso - witness his later recruitment to Ted Nugent's and John Fogerty's bands touring bands, and then Lynyrd Skynyrd.
@jamestate505919 күн бұрын
You forgot Jack Blades on bass and vocals. Check out their song Coming Of Age it has Jack on lead vocals. Also the drummer went on to be the long time drummer for the current Lynyrd Skynyrd band

I saw them in concert back in the early 90s in Jacksonville, FL. It was one of the loudest concerts I've been to. Ted Nugent is a monster of a guitarist! Tommy Shaw of Styx, (guitarist and singer) enough said. Jack Blades of Night Ranger, crazy good vocals. Felt very fortunate to have had the chance to see them.

The drummer is Michael Cartellone who has played drums with Tommy on his solo stuff, he toured with Ted nugent, Peter Frampton, John Fogerty and I believe he is still with lynyrd skynyrd. Comin of age, and High Enough are two of their bigger songs. Ted was basically just the guitar player for these guys. Jack and Tommy were great singers apart and together Ted didn’t need to do much else with them. Jacks group Night Ranger you definitely need to check out. I saw a documentary about DY and it said despite their 2 albums selling pretty well, when Nirvana blew up, and Pearl Jam, etc. the music industry shifted entirely towards grunge and wanted to unload their old "dinosaur" rock bands. The record label actually paid DY a couple of mill to buy them out of their contract so they wouldn't have to release any more of their albums. Crazy!

You overlooked Jack Blades of Night Ranger, an incredible vocalist/bassist/ songwriter that is criminally overlooked here. He is a major part of the equation here. It's forgivable though because Tommy Shaws' vocals and Uncle Ted shine so bright on this track. I would like to know just how much of the lead guitar on this track was Ted and /or Tommy...becuase Tommy is capable of incredible solo work. I wouldn't surprise me if Tommy had a good portion of this one on guitar too:)

Hey guys. Longtime viewer from Gatineau Qc. This band was great when they hit the scene. I’d very much like to suggest a video for you to watch. Similarly to this one it begins slow and builds to pure power. The lead singer (also lead guitarist) is incredible !!! The band is called GIANT and the song is I’ll see you in my dreams. The power, grit and soul in his vocals is incredible and 1/2 way through he’ll impress you with an amazing guitar solo. One of the most underrated bands of their time.
