Because at that point on the pool of beans they chose from there were two blueberry/toothpaste ones and one melon/snot one. He dropped the golden marble in addition to the normal one, meaning he got to choose a bean for someone else. He chose the melon/snot for Barry, leaving him with two blueberry/toothpaste ones to choose from.
