Part one of two part debate on January 19 & 20, 2012. New Testament scholars Bart D. Ehrman and Craig A. Evans took part in two debate/dialogues on the topic: "Does the New Testament present a reliable portrait of the Historical Jesus?" The first night was at Saint Mary's University in Nova Scotia (Religious Studies Dept.) and the second night was at The Navigators of Canada; Acadia University (Divinity College); supported by churches across Nova Scotia. Debates were sponsored by ReligionSoup at www.religionsoup.ca.

Bart D. Ehrman is the James A. Gray Distinguished Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He came to UNC in 1988, after four years of teaching at Rutgers University. At UNC he has served as both the Director of Graduate Studies and the Chair of the Department of Religious Studies. A graduate of Wheaton College (Illinois), Professor Ehrman received both his Masters of Divinity and Ph.D. from Princeton Theological Seminary, where his 1985 doctoral dissertation was awarded magna cum laude.
