It's hard to tell though from these images if some just couldn't be bothered to validate their tickets. In urban areas of Germany they don't even bother with access barriers instead there are little groups of ticket checkers roaming the public transport at random - the statistical certainty to get caught eventually creates psychological pressure by numbers. From a city planning perspective that makes it also a lot easier/cheaper to build a station along route at any given point required if you don't have to fortify a choking point.

Cuomo would have been out a long time ago if NYC hadn't gotten it's way by mob rule over and over. All he cares about is NYC and taxing all of us middle and upper class people. Hell, most of the people I know in this area of NY voted against him and were more center to conservative, but it doesn't matter what we vote anyways.
@synecdoche87835 жыл бұрын
@@hailitalia86 its not even a social issue its a design issue, if these machines were more complex and harder to go through it will be an issue for commuters especially in a high traffic city; enforcement would also cause issues because it would generate more human traffic; the solution requires a plan and thinking a possible solution could be to automate ticketing during the transit area with scannable tokens but that would require ID's and that isn't very constitutional and very invasive to privacy, increasing the amount of tolls per station could fix the trafficking issue if the tolls were engineered to be less penetrable, but a complete renovation in the machinery plus additional machines would take up too much time would which reduce more monetary flow considering the construction time and the cost to produce the machines and spending for public infrastructure has to be managed, all these issues are discussed when it comes to changing these types of things no one gives a shit about social issues, it's people like you and SJW's who bring it into everything, the rest of us actually pay taxes and work and vote for laws and care about the things that would generate income flow into our country not about pointless identity politics; thats the easy way out in an argument about the welfare of a situated area.

@@ForTheLongCon Of course it is? I'm not sure what country you live in, but here in Sweden all emergency doors are locked. Everywhere. Even in malls and schools. They're locked until there is an emergency. But in this case with the MTR, the doors are locked and can only be opened by MTR personnel and people who use strollers (with paying tickets). They're there 24/7 in the booth selling tickets. If they see something happen they unlock the doors and notify security. It's a very good system and has worked for many years without any problems. Some of the emergency doors can also be opened by passangers with paying tickets, if they were to bring a stroller.

In my country, we have actual gates, they're at least 6.5ft, you can't jump over them or duck underneath the gate and you can't just push through them. The only way to get through the gates is to have your transport card or you pay for a ticket at a nearby kiosk, then they manually let you through. There's security guards on site, even at vacant stations. We also have ticket/card checkers on every train, especially during rush hour (in the morning and afternoon for students and workers). It's an effective system and it's very difficult to get around.
