During WWII my dad was a PT Boat commander in the Philippines. They hid the boat at daylight under a camouflage net in protected shore location. He told me their source of supply was a Royal Dutch Navy DO 24K which flew from Australia. He said they made numerous flights. He thought the DO 24 K was one tough aircraft. The crew and plane were originally from the Dutch Naval Base in the Dutch East Indies.

The Dutch Do24s were used against the Japanese in 1941 - 1942 until the fall of the Netherlands Indies in early March. Many Do24s were able to make their way to Australia. The Doolittle Raid on Tokyo in April would help dampen somewhat their banzais.
