Hey Dave... for my home bar, I am adding a well to mix drinks with decent brands but not the real expensive stuff. In your opinion, if you had a bar well at your home bar with ready to pour bottles for general mixed drinks, which brands would you recommend stocking it with? Maybe that would make a good video! Thanks!

I like it Small Town. I'll put it on my video list. For now, here's a basic list of quality brands that aren't too expensive. Most of these will range from $18 - $22, but it does depend on where you live. If you want cheaper than that, you won't get very good quality, so it's up to you what's more important. Vodka: Tito's, Skyy, Absolut Gin: Beefeater Bourbon: Four Roses, Evan Williams Black, Larceny Rum: Bacardi Light, Sailor Jerry Tequila: Milagro, El Jimador Scotch: Dewar's White Label, Johnnie Walker Red I hope that helps a bit. Best of luck stocking your bar.

@@DaveAllredTheRealBarman THANKS! I added these to my list. I live in a state that you can only get liquor at a state run ABC store, so their stock is limited to whatever they get sent., but I will do my best to hunt these down.

@@DaveAllredTheRealBarman One more question if you don't mind. So I ordered some bottle pourers from Amazon that got some good reviews. They seem to fit pretty tightly in all bottles except the Captain Morgan Spiced Run bottle. Very loose in that bottle and I don't trust a pour that won't end up in a spill. Any insight on one for that bottle that will work? Thanks!

Why don't you have a fine strainer if I may ask? I know some people say the little ice shards give a bit of personality bit you at least need it for the seeds and pulp when you use a mexican elbow.

Dave, we always empty the ice bin at close. In your opinion should ice be left in to keep metal pad colder? We were always told that the ice would become stale if we did not remove it. Thanks
@DaveAllredTheRealBarman5 жыл бұрын
A fantastic question Denise. Here's the truth, considering that the ice is something that goes into people's drinks, it can certainly be argued that anything left out in the open is a target for contaminants, dust, bugs, etc. which is why I like the bins that have the metal slide covers to cover up the ice. I personally like leaving the ice in because it keeps the soda in the gun colder and keeps it carbonated, and I just use the slide cover to protect it. Ice does not get stale sitting over night. However, if anyone were to ask you technically what you SHOULD do, the correct answer for most places would be to burn the ice. With that said, even if you leave the ice in every night, it should be burned and cleaned out once or twice per week. Hope that helps.
