Just had my interview.. feel like they didn't give me time to get all of my points across (kept getting cut off).. Is it normal to have like only one or two points for some Qs briefly explained? Or is it expected for all Qs to have properly structured answers with multiple points? Quite worried as Barts is my top choice and I always hear how it is the best interview but for me it was probably my second worst so far :(

Heyyyy! I think each question varies and yh sometimes you can get cut off but dw too much, hopefully thing work out! But try not to dwell on it, the past is the past and you don’t want to make yourself anxious💙

Make sure you annotate it and try to think of potential questions you could get, and think about what your answer would be. It may be an ethical question so make sure you think about that too and mention the ethical pillars. Try do more research around the topic aswell. Formulate your opinion on how you feel about topics in the article.

I watched the interview webinar and barts said that applicants are graded on a scale of 1-5, 5 being exceeding expectations, 3 being average. What does it mean by average? Average compared to all other applicants or the answer is just average? What type of things would I have to say to be graded exceeding expectations? If I had the question "why barts" and i mentioned: -the course structure, -uni atmosphere, -clubs that I want to join, would that be an average answer?

I have my interview on Monday and im really struggling with how to tackle the article, could you help me with how you tackled it and some advice? I'm so nervous and worried

Annotate the article and fine the key points and then do extra research around it. Go through the article and make up example questions you could get and then practice answering those questions. Make sure you make up your own opinion about what is being discussed but also consider other opinions so that your argument is balanced. It might be an ethical question so talk about the ethical pillars and mention both sides of the argument. You don’t have to know the topic inside out but it needs to be clear that you’ve done some research and that you can talk about the article fairly well. Hope this helps! Barts and The London is a division of Queen Mary in which Medicine is taught, we’re not sure why but Interviewers prefer if you refer to it more accurately ☺️
