It's nice to see that Baryonyx is getting some time in the spotlight. I remember when it was first discovered: no-one had seen anything quite like it, certainly not in England. As the original Spinosaurus fossils had long since been destroyed, this was a reminder that there were piscivorous theropods out there waiting to be found!

Baryonyx had a long snout with crocodile like teeth and had forelimbs with huge claws which made it an efficient killer. It also a good sense of vision and hearing and a pretty good sense of smell. Like modern day grizzly bears, Baryonyx is specialized in hunting, catching, and eating fish with teeth and claws to catch their kill. It also hunted sauropods and ornithopods but also plenty in competition with many other predators like giant crocodiles, Seratosuchops, Parovanador, Neovanador, and Eotyrannus. Smaller agile predators like Calamosaurus and Artistosuchus came in contact with Baryonyx. And also bird like predators such as the Ornithodesmus and Vectoraptors would have been a fast and agile predators against Baryonyx.
