For any new car company, the most recent model is probably the best built because they are learning from experience. It’s difficult to completely revamp the way a vehicle is built after the manufacturing process has been completed. Starting from scratch they can build in all that they have learned. Expect the R2 to be better built than the R1S/Ts too.

You should be able to fix the steering wheel list by entering service mode and changing setting parameters. Also fixing that trim panel rattle is probably a 15 min job. When I first test drove the highland my first thought was to put my '17 Model S on sale as quickly as possible, while it still has value. That's how good it is.

I've had a new M3P since June and the steering wheel stitching drives me insane every. Single. Drive. I had to get black interior due to tax credit after several white ones and it's grown on me, feels a little sportier. The black seats definitely seem to crease less.

I can agree. Just came from a 2019 Accord 2.0t touring and my new Model 3 is soo much better built. Softer interior, hardly any plastic surfaces, better seats, better suspension, and significantly quieter.

Why Tesla don't offer the premium sound system for the base one as upgrade?. How's this sound system?

Tesla doesn’t really do options unless they are software based. Depends on what you are used to. I can tell you if you are used to a standard Subaru sound system, it is much better than that. If you are coming from a Subaru with the premium sound system it’s pretty much just as good. Sorry I only have experience with Subarus.

Backed to backed model S and lucid air yesterday. Honestly a similar situation. Model S had a passenger seat click if you hit your head on the headrest (launch control) and a slight rattle in the dash. Nothing major. Lucid air has a super bad rattle coming from the rear deck. Same did the showroom car. My friend is buying air. And I’m buying S 😂

30:54 nope, you can remove just the piece without the whole dashboard. There are some replacement 3rd party offers with carbon or other textiles

I’ve fixed these model 3’s and yes you have to take the dash out. Steering wheel, middle console and damn near front seats have to be pulled out to get to the dash.

I don’t consider the plastic interior panels as inferior. It’s not a luxury car. The price point is that of an Accord and Camry. It’s a very good valued car. You get a lot for what it costs.

Hopefully this gets seen. I have an order in for M3LR and I currently have quicksilver selected. I haven’t gotten my VIN yet and am considering changing but I think I just want to make sure that quicksilver is a good quality paint. Is it?

No. He had a video on the quicksilver paint and he said it is one of the worst paint jobs he had seen. But it can vary from car to car so don’t be too stressed about it.

I recently took delivery of an Ultra Red 2025 Model 3 during a sudden downpour. I have been shocked at how bad my paint quality is. Roughly half a dozen dust nibs all over the car, tons of orange peel, and 2 drips near the rear driver side fender they tried to minimize by polishing (poorly). I love my car, but it has the worst paint of any new car I have seen. Avoid taking delivery if there is rain/snow in the forecast since Tesla refuses to do indoor deliveries, at least at my delivery/service center.

I bought a LR RWD in August of 2024. I had to refuse delivery of the first car they tried to sell me. There were ripples in the paint on the A pillar on the passenger side. There was a spot on the hood where it wasn’t painted and could see the primer. The front roof glass did not meet (was raised) the windshield glass and the black trim on the driver’s door was nicked and showed bare metal. To much wrong that I could see caused me to worry about what I couldn’t see. Also the car was filthy. This was at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut.

@@nicholasmuni7995 I purchased a demo from inventory. Only issues I found was a hair under the paint in the door jam and a rough edge on the steering wheel controls which they fixed with an entirely new wheel. Overall I was very impressed.

It got better because it was really bad. Quality still crap long term. Tesla tests and improve their cars with it's clients, not with exhaustive testing and research. That's why they iterate component changes so often.
