My strategy. Wait for it. No PPF. I'll get rock chips and scratches and bug stains over many years. When it's time to sell the car, get the front professional resprayed. It becomes perfect for $2k. Cheaper than PPF. Here's what would happen if instead I did PPF to begin with..... The PPF would start to harden and crack. Now it's nearly impossible to remove and when it does come off, some of it will pull up the paint under it meaning what? You have to spend that same $2k I did for a respray of the front. BAM

The id Buzz is by far the most feel good ev. When I sat in it in Munich I just kept smiling thinking to myself in this car the holiday starts with the departure. And every trip to the groceries is a short holiday.

It looks good and has a lot of clever use of space inside. Perhaps a bigger battery would be nice. I saw a lot of positive reviews and talked to an owner 1/2 year ago. He was very satisfied. Not cheap like the original VW Bus but this time has gone. Looking for cheap cars, China seems to be the place today, not Germany. Owning an VW ID car (the 3 you do not get in the US i think.) i got used to the 3 window buttons very soon. So i do prefer 4 buttons, but not a big deal for me after a short time.

Great video like your others. Taking delivery of a CT on Friday and have had my other vehicles ceramic coated and was originally looking at using ProtectaClear but besides the prep work being the same for both this looks a little more forgiving and easier. Did you do the motorized bed cover? Thanks!
@OutofSpecDetailing5 сағат бұрын
I wouldn’t recommend proteclear whatsoever. You can coat everything in the exterior besides the rubber with this coating
@rkishi14 сағат бұрын
The House of Rags website says that the ceramic coating is "Safe for all exterior surfaces (paint, glass, wheels, plastic trim, lights, PPF, vinyl wraps), including matte finishes." Did you coat everything on the Cybertruck - bumpers, mirror trim, wheels, plastic trim, windshield, etc? Curious on what you'd recommend applying this ceramic coating to. Thanks, and keep up the great work!🤙🏽
@OutofSpecDetailing13 сағат бұрын
Can be used for all the black trim, wheels, glass, paint, etc etc

Advanced Auto Parts website has the Griot's Garage microfiber wash and scrub mitt for $1.95, Mother's lambswool mitt for $5.55 and two Viking Car Care mitts also at 80% off at $1.55 and $3.35. Don't think they'll last long but I stocked up on 303,turtlewax and Maguire's products at 80% which has me set for at least 2 summers.

Great video but without knowing the reapplication frequency needed I would probably lean towards other hydrophobic/hydrocarbon-phobic products just because of the high cost for one ounce. I can't wait eight years to see if their claim is true so I will take my risk with something else. Thanks for the video though.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqC7Y6CmbJaWiLc this guy suggests the complete opposite of you, arguing that you should definitely not use Windex (ammonia) and Bar Keeper's Friend on the Cybertruck. Any thoughts? 3:00 mark discusses why Windex is bad. 7:49 mark discusses why Bar Keeper's Friend is bad.

Is Chris a professional detailer? Nope
@peTeMelster22 сағат бұрын
@OutofSpecDetailing true, but doesn't take a professional detailer to find countless articles and research showing that ammomia damages stainless steel. Bar Keeper's Friend seems abrasive, but your polisher machine helps give a more even finish instead of random scratches.
@OutofSpecDetailing21 сағат бұрын
Okay then don’t use the process, the trucks I do look better than a single other truck I’ve seen. I’ve talked to actual chemists about the BKF & Windex. All the ones I’ve talked to have no issue with it. Windex has a SMALL amount of ammonia

I read the Safety Data Sheet on this ceramic coating and it is really scary. It contains endocrine disruptors. I was wanting to do this but after reading the SDS, I have decided against it. Probably it is safe after curing but if it slowly wears off, its going to go into the environment and cause problems.

Thanks so much for taking the time to share this info with all of us CT owners. A lot of us out here have been waiting for the dust to settle on just WHICH of the ceramic coatings is best for our bare SS Cybertrucks.

I am assuming that once the coating has been applied then it is essentially the same thought process of a painted vehicle, meaning, if you want to wrap it in the future, you would have to remove the ceramic coating?

What a great video and what an impressive product Pan has put together!! Will the Cybertruck still experience "tea staining" or oxidation with this ceramic coating being applied?
@OldDirtyRobotКүн бұрын
Be careful when using a polisher and BKF. It is very easy to leave swirl marks. Light and even is key. Start on the tailgate first. Check your work and proceed. You do not want to have to resurface the truck. If you are unsure, do it by hand.

You can actually go quite aggressive with it, pressure and speed. Wouldn’t recommend using a cutting pad

I have PPF on the front of my vehicle with a ceramic coating all over the vehicle and by far the areas with Xpel PPF are way easier to clean than the areas with just the coating. It also stays cleaner. This includes the front fenders too.

The past 3 days I have been doing a full detail on my Mom's Model Y, paint correction (holy mother of god did the paint have more scratches than we knew, that were also quite deep. Also had to put touchup paint about a million places) and then apply Adam's ceramic coating. I've watched your videos for a while now and my god it was more work than I thought it would be. I bought a kit from Chemical Guys to clean and the correction. TLDR: What I learned was that the DA doesn't really matter, but the backing plate and pad can make all of the difference. Also to do a test spot and go heavier cut than you think and then do the rest of the car, saves you so much time. In any case hopefully the ceramic I put on the car works out great. So total respect to someone who does it at your level, I now understand why you take some of the decisions you do during the process that I see in the videos

As someone who completed a (rather unusual) combined panel-beating & service technician apprenticeship at a Honda dealership in Melbourne, AU between 1992-98, I consider myself quite knowledgeable person when it comes to both the aesthetic & mechanical aspects of modern cars, although much has changed in the industry since I left it at the end of my apprenticeship...anyway, I honestly think that this video was little more than pure clickbait & that the content creator couldn't think of anything else about which he could produce a video, because this was a serious combination of clickbait & hyperbolic bitching about something that's pretty damn unimportant...honestly, the car shown in this video still looks pretty damn good to me & not only am I well-trained in the industry but I'm ridiculously OCD by nature & am obsessively fussy re: my car & motorcycle (both Honda's, of course!)...what was the actual point that you were trying to present/assert in this video, may I please enquire? It almost seemed as though you were debating yourself at times!
